If you’re in Kokomo and haven’t been to Amazing Thai Restaurant yet… you’re seriously missing out.
I don’t usually write reviews, but this place deserves all the love. I’ve eaten at Amazing Thai more times than I can count—I’ve literally never missed a day since it opened, and even on my days off, I still pull up just to eat. It’s that real.
Let me start with the pad Thai—a staple. Straight fire. Sweet, savory, perfect texture—it sets the tone. Then there’s the pad keemow, packed with wide noodles, stir-fry sauce, and that cashew flavor combo that just hits different. But my number one noodle dish? Without question: lard nah. I had it yesterday and I can’t stop thinking about it. Fried flat noodles drowning in rich gravy with veggies and meat—it’s like comfort food from heaven.
I’ve run through every noodle on the menu: pad sei eiw, pad woon sen, bah mee—not a single complaint. Each one comes out hot, fast, and fresh. Like, under 5 minutes fast. But here’s the kicker—the quality never slips. You can taste the care in every bite. It’s love on a plate.
Now let’s talk about something sacred: the pineapple fried rice. Words don’t do it justice. That curry spice, the chunks of pineapple, those cranberries? It’s sweet, savory, fruity, and just straight-up magical. It’s in its own league. If I could choose my last meal on Earth, this would be it. No hesitation.
For stir fry, the pad kra tiem (garlic pepper) is next-level. Toasted garlic, rich stir-fry sauce, and your choice of protein—everything works beautifully together. It’s simple, flavorful, and satisfying. And the massaman curry? Whew. I don’t know what they put in it, but it’s pure Thai sorcery. Creamy, warm, slightly sweet—it’s a hug in a bowl. I might order it again tonight, no joke.
Don’t even get me started on the appetizers: Chicken satay (top tier), pork dumplings, shrimp rolls, Thai egg rolls, fish cakes (second only to the satay), fried tofu—you truly cannot go wrong. Every one of them is crispy, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned.
But whatever you order, and I mean WHATEVER—you must get a side of the seafood sauce. I’m begging you. It’s like a limey chimichurri, and honestly? They should call it crack sauce. I put it on everything. It’s bright, zesty, addictive. I don’t care what you order—don’t skip it.
I’ve had their soups, too—glass noodle and chicken rice—both refreshing, flavorful, and balanced. The papaya salad (tom yum) hits you with spice and crunch and flavor that feels like something straight from Thailand.
All dishes can be made mild, medium, spicy, or extra spicy. Me? I like it spicy—but extra spicy? That’s scary territory. Respect the Thai heat.
For drinks, don’t miss the Thai iced tea—it took me a minute to get used to, but now I can’t get enough. They also have lemonade and Sprite with red or green syrup, which sounds simple, but it’s honestly a whole experience.
Oh—and the crispy duck? I’d never had duck before and now it’s in my top 3. I got it with the ginger sauce and it was like chicken’s classy older cousin—deeper, richer, unforgettable. My top three favorites? Pineapple fried rice Lard nah Crispy duck Undisputed.
The vibe of the place is just as good as the food. Chill music, palm leaves on the tables, beach scenes playing on TV, and a huge neon “Amazing Thai Restaurant” sign that sets the tone. There’s even a beautiful mural painted on the front counter. The whole place has a warm, welcoming energy.
And the staff? Super friendly, fast, and attentive. The owner is there every single day working right alongside everyone else, making sure the food stays consistent and full of love. You can tell she cares, and that passion shows up in every single plate.
If you love food that’s fast, fresh, flavorful, and unforgettable—Amazing Thai is your new go-to. I can’t recommend it enough. This place...
Read moreI got basil fried rice, golden tofu, and I guess ....2 veggie eggrolls meant to them 8 ( 2 orders I'm guessing) so I was very surprised my order came up to $40, for lunch for just me. The kicker was , apparently my order was given to someone else, they asked if I mind waiting for them to prepare a new order. I said ok, meanwhile, a guy comes in, he says they gave him the wrong order, they check, and of course....IT'S MY ORDER...right in front of the man , she asked me if I mind just taking his order as opposed to them making me a new order, I sat there for a second THE MAN APOLOGIZES to me...I say well " it's not YOUR FAULT", and she says , " he hasn't had it very long maybe Two minutes he's been gone," I said "well I guess!!..." I don't appreciate being put on the spot !!!, asking me right in front of the customer was extremely unprofessional & rude, even asking the question PERIOD!!! Was EXTREMELY unprofessional, and I ABSOLUTELY WILL NOT BE RETURNING to say the least. Work on your professionalism. You knew that wasn't right. You should have thrown that food in the trash and made me another a new order, it wasn't the man's fault or mines it was YOUR'S and you should have made it right by making a whole new order as well as an apology.!!!!!!! Update The Amazing CHEF Malachi, who witnessed the whole incident went above and BEYOND to rectify this situation, I will definitely come back as long as he is an employee. He is a great and well needed asset to this establishment . He has above average customer service, on top of the fact that he's...
Read moreFirst time going here the people behind the counter seemed rude, they were brash so it wasn't actual rudeness but how they told customers to sit places just came off as rude. However, I asked them for panang for my wife and I, my wife got it as mild as possible and it was sadly too spicy for her. However, I told them to make it as spicy as possible and normally places give me stuff that barely burns, this place DELIVERED. I'm sweating, cold chills, and struggling with every bite. It's everything I want in a spicy meal tbh, the panang wasn't as good as the competition but the other place does NOT have anything on the spice level this place offers. There's also actual Thai chilli pepper chunks in my food, that's not terribly spicy of a pepper but it is my favorite pepper so that's a huge plus. We'll be coming back to try the Pad Ka Prow next since I haven't found another place that servers that since Virginia! Really looking forward to having a new Thai place around the corner especially one that knows how to make their food spicy!!!
Tl:Dr - off putting staff, panang is good, and if you love spicy food, truly spicy food, then you'll love this place! Not good for people who can't...
