My kid wanted something else for dinner and I really did not want what he was having. I noticed the Freebirds in the parking lot, so headed over after I picked up his food. I was surprised there was no hanging motorcycle from the ceiling and no broken cinder blocks like you see at other locations. The young lady working the counter was very friendly and patient. I asked for 3 tacos. I did notice many of their items were In need of replacement as there was hardly any meat in any of the bins. I did see another young lady in the back cutting up steak to refill the bins. The young lady quickly made my order and rang me up. I was disappointed they did not have any brownies. There were only two cookies on display. As I go to pay for my order, a guy who was also working in the back comes over and starts eating a piece of Dominos pizza from 3 boxes that were sitting on the counter. You would think that you would try to keep that from the eyes of customers. Secondly, you would also think that you would have that someplace not to close to the food that is being prepared. I thought it was a tad bit unprofessional.
The tacos were fantastic. I appreciated the young lady labeling them, as I got 3 different kinds. I had also ordered chips and queso. I appreciated the chips came in a separate bag, to keep them from getting stale.
Overall the visit was great. If I was rating on service and food quality alone, this place would be 5 stars. The service line needed to be wiped down and bins needed to be refilled. The store was overall clean and well kept other than...
Read moreWe've always loved free birds and have been fans and going for years. When we heard one would be coming to Kyle I was really excited.
Except for the last 2 times we went, the food was less than satisfactory. For one, the food and protein is stone cold. The cheese won't even begin to melt. The rice and black beans were way overcooked.
We couldn't even eat our burritos once we got home with them because they were so cold. And no way to really microwave it without picking the lettuce out. What a disappointment.
And second, the amount of large house flies inside the restaurant and buzzing around and landing on the food is staggering. I saw a small gnat like bug crawl into the steak and I stood there and watched them scooping meat out and never saw it come back out. So someone had to of gotten a small gnat served in their food. It's just really turned me off and made me lose my appetite.
They need those large fans that blow air to keep flies out of the restaurant over all the doors or else there will be flies laying eggs in peoples food and possibly people getting sick.
Overall disappointed in the quality of food and atmosphere because I shouldn't have to swat flies away while standing in line for food like I'm at a picnic.
Service was...
Read moreIt's Freebirds, so the food is what I expected, but man.. the experience was not great today. (8/23/25) I walked in at ~8:30 with a group of friends after an evening bowling at the Evo in the same complex. Granted, there were 7 of us, but we had convinced people who had never eaten Freebirds, and one friend who said their previous experience was bad. Firstly - my wife asked a simple question. "How many tacos come in an order?" The response, "I don't know" with a defeated voice. Second - I wanted white meat chicken. There was chicken being cooked on the grill... But again, a defeated response -" can I just give you this?" And was offered the other chicken. Multiple other issues - one friend couldn't get pico .. but as we sit here eating, new pico was brought out. One friend got only 1 choice of meat ... Despite more being cooked. We would have waited for the meats we wanted. There's more choices now, but our food is already made and eaten. I get it was busy with us 7, and other people and online orders, but man... Customer service is a must. Please do better, I went to bat with my friend group, and now look like a tool for...
