We had been delaying coming to this location until a few weeks after the grand opening. We should have never attempted to come at all.
We've been members for about a year and have never had any issues with the previous location, William Cannon in Austin. I was super stoked about this one being so much closer. We walked in at about 8:20pm and didn't realize that they closed at 8:30pm. The lady at the entrance said to us that, "Costco doesn't relay closing messages because they want to give everyone time to shop and to not feel rushed. Take your time." She was super nice and we were off into the store to look around a get a few things.
We made our way around and eventually made it to the back wall where the meat is. After about 5 minutes a gentleman came up to us and said rudely, "we are closing, you both need to leave". I was in a slight state of shock, so my husband told the worker what the lady at the front had told us when we got there. He said, "I dunno I need to check with the manager." Then he talked to a guy that I assume was a floor manger and went back to his area and didn't say anything to us. My husband and I were both so upset we just put all of our items back and went to the front. On our way there I counted 10 other customers just shopping away not getting bothered about the store closing.
I saw a gentleman standing to the side of the front registers and found out he was the manager on duty. I relayed to him what had happened and he apologized, thanked me for letting him know what happened and that they'd had new people hired and would follow up. He offered to let us go back shopping and we declined. We walked out at 8:43pm.
This experience was so upsetting. To wait such a long time for this one to get built and finally open and then have those kind of employees working there after just being told to just shop and enjoy. I pay for a membership and then to get treated in such manner is unexcuseable. I won't be back to this location. I'd rather drive out of my way...
   Read moreTo Costco Management,
I am writing to report a disappointing experience I had during my recent visit to your store today at 4:44 pm Kyle location . I was using the self-checkout area, and there was an employee(cashier with her scanner gun, helping the customers with the heavy items or need assistant ) there who demonstrated very unprofessional behavior and poor customer service. ⢠When I greeted her politely by saying, âHi, how are you doing?â, she completely ignored me. When I pointed out that itâs courteous to respond to customers, she falsely claimed that she had already said hello, which was simply not true. ⢠I had heavy items in my cart, and despite clearly needing assistance and asking for help, she did not offer or come to assist me. ⢠I also requested help through the system, but she still made no effort to come over and assist me at all.
As a loyal Costco member who pays $130 annually for a membership, I believe Iâand othersâdeserve a respectful and helpful shopping experience. We come to Costco for both the value and the service, and when staff members treat customers in this careless and dismissive way, it reflects poorly on the brand and weakens customer trust.
I ask that this incident be taken seriously and that appropriate feedback or retraining be given to the employee involved. Good customer service should not be optional â it should be part of the standard training and expectation of every Costco employee.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to seeing improvements in how customers are treated...
Read moreHorrible customer service. If you arenât there for the gas, youâre better off driving to the S. Austin location. To elaborate, I have visited this Costco three times now. The first experience was relatively decent as I did not have to communicate with any employees. The second time I decided to go to regular checkout and the cashier and their assistant blatantly ignored the fact that I was standing in their line. Their manager had to come and tell them to help me in order to get them scanning. To make matters worse, they never so much as said hi to me, kept chatting with each other, and forgot to scan one of my items. I had to go through self-checkout to finish paying for my order. On my third visit, I went to renew my membership and the folks at the membership desk were giggling to each other and looking at their phones when while assisting customers. This elongated my wait time and when it was my turn they let someone cut in front of me and proceeded to begin flirting with the gentleman. I am absolutely appalled by the lack of customer service and continued experiences with rude employees at this location. I have been a member for 11 years and have never had this consistently...
