Rudy's "Country Store" and Bar-B-Q — Restaurant in Kyle

I had always wanted to try out their breakfast tacos. I went online and placed my taco order for pick up. What is funny is that it asks if you want to order dessert, but there is no options for dessert. I guess it just depends on the time you are ordering. I order 6 bean and cheese with bacon a 1 egg, bacon, cheese and potato taco. Each ingredient is $.50, so you can customize your tacos to your liking. The place opens at 630 am and I requested my tacos to be ready by 645 am. I roll up and waited because I did not want to be too early. Sure enough, my tacos were ready when I walked in. If I was just raising this place on service and atmosphere, they would get 5 stars across the board. The young lady who was working the counter was very friendly and professional. I did notice they had desserts that I could buy at the counter, but opted to stick with tacos. I get home and my egg, bacon, cheese and potato taco was full. The eggs were fluffy. The potatoes were a tad bit soggy and had little if any seasoning on them. I am not sure where they are getting their bacon; but, it was very thin. I had to look to make sure there was even bacon in the taco. I would strongly advise them to start using thicker cut bacon. The bacon was crisp and flavorful. The bean and cheese tacos with bacon were very skimpy. You get bigger tacos at the gas station next door. If you are going to make a bean and cheese taco, can ou add twice the amount of beans in it than you gave me? My kid like the bean and cheese with bacon tacos; but, both of my boys stated they were "too small".

Overall, this was a great visit. I had zero problems ordering tacos, greeting in and getting out. I will know next time if I want a bigger taco, or order more stuff in it so that way it's...

**Edit: Spoke with the district manager and he sent me a gift card to make up for my horrendous experience. The card is worth a measly 40 bucks. That doesn't even cover my meal that was thrown in the trash. Literally threw it away it was so dry and y'all cant even compensate for a full meal. Lol. Great job, Rudy's. Your district manager just cost you a customer that's been with you since the 90s

Original review: Just ordered online and arrived over 15 minutes early only to see my food is already sitting there getting cold. No worries, I think. Rudy's has never (and I mean never) done me wrong and they just had the food ready really quick is all. So I get home (literally 5 minutes away from the restaurant) and am greeted by the driest, saddest excuse for brisket I've ever seen. I've been a Rudy's customer since the early 90's and am appalled by what I just paid over $40 for. Whoever is the running that location should be utterly ashamed. I thought the bad reviews were just being harsh. Nope. Way worse than I could have imagined. This is the first time in my over forty years on this planet that I can say I've had bad brisket. And the "coleslaw" or whatever that garbage was. Looked like it was made with water instead of mayo. Do better, Rudy's....

This is the second time I have been since they have opened this location. Both times have been around lunch time (between 11-1pm) and I have waited in line for over 30 mins each time.

The first time I ate in the restaurant. The food was good and the restaurant was extremely clean. This time however they were training a new person (understandable) and she couldn't hear my order. I repeated it multiple times and finally just settled for what she came back with which was lean brisket instead of moist. Not the end of the world but the moist is far superior in my opinion. The condiment bar was well stocked and well kept.

My second visit which was today, was to pick up food to go. Again this was a very long wait in line. I will say however, after getting home with my food they packaged everything extremely well and it was just as good as if I was eating inside. I love the availability of bags to take pickles/onions etc. All in all, a good experience aside from the wait, which one would assume will get better in time.

Each staff member that I spoke to was extremely helpful and friendly. The parking lot situation is less than optimal but once you have been you can kind of figure out where to...
