After my recent disappointing visit to Wendy's I thought I'd go ahead and shake things up a bit and check out a Taco Bell in Lagrange, KY. This location had outward decor suggesting a full renovation, however, when entering the restaurant it became clear that dining area had flooring and tables from the older, lower quality Taco Bell restaurant design. The outside was just an outward polished, superficial upgrade similar to many of the lift kits and flame decals installed on most of the trucks I observed throughout the state.
I carefully selected an item on the menu I thought provided the most value for my dollar. The current promotion was for the chicken flatbread sandwich, last seen on Taco Bell menus in 2011, so I couldn't help but order the chicken flatbread value meal. I was thrilled when my total was announced and the entire meal was under $6. We're not in Wendy's anymore!
The food arrived in a brown paper bag, a nice recyclable upgrade from the plastic bag I'm used to receiving that once would remind me of the minimal separation between my dining experience and shopping at a Walmart. The Chicken Flatbread Sandwich was the real winner of the meal, featuring freshly shredded lean chicken breast paired with cheese and spicy chipotle sauce. Excellent. The Soft Taco was pretty much exactly what you expect when you spend 89 cents for grade F meat at a Taco Bell. The Burrito Supreme was a real miss and essentially offset all of my financial savings with some gastrointestinal debits. From what I could tell, the only thing "supreme" about the burrito was the ratio of the flat, tasteless refried beans to all of the other burrito contents. I'm talking 3:1 bean ratio. I finished the item with some effort and left the restaurant quickly, my stomach becoming a ticking time bomb for later in the evening.
Like most fast food experiences, this one started with unfettered potential but ended with sincere regret. Seems as though finding value in a fast food restaurant in 2016 is about as difficult as finding a high bit rate, unsecured WiFi network in downtown Chicago.

Read moreIf I could give them 0 stars I most definitely would. where do I begin? this is by far the worst Taco Bell I've ever been to. I've lived in La Grange all my life and it's just gotten worse and worst throuout the years. You will wait there in line for 30-45 minutes each visit. Every single time I go there after 10 PM they tell me that they are unable to serve me because of a different excuse each time: they are short staffed, they need to clean, food shortage... the list goes on. It's been that way for a few months now. why not just close the store at 11 if it's that bad. why run up the labor? The last time I went they didn't cut my quesadilla and I took it back through the drive-through and asked them to cut it...and so they told me they would. I gave it back to them and when they handed it back to me a second time it had marks from like it was cut but there was no actual real cuts in the quesadilla. pretty annoying too. Now I went back I ordered 6 items total. 3 items, 2 of each if thatales sense. Though when I got to the window i explained to them that I had ordered 2 burritos with my food they told me that they can't do any add ons at the window. it wasn't an add on, they just misheard me... and there was only 3 cars on lot so what was the big issue? I could have just pulled forward like the other vehicle if it was such a problem. This poor girl at the window just seems so clueless every time I go. I am a restaurant manager as well. clearly someone needs to come in and train this staff better or management needs to be changed, but something needs to be done because it is absolutely ridiculous that I have issues every single time I come to this Taco Bell. unfortunately I love the food and would sell my...
Read moreAfter placing our order on the app and paying on the app we sit in the drive through for 3pminutes finally get to the speaker and tell them we placed an order on the app and the guy says "um we can't make half of the food you ordered." At first he didn't even act like there was anything they could do about it, a $32 order. So when I asked what we could do he said we could call the next day to try to get a refund or they could just substitute the items they couldn't make with some items that they could make. We set for another 15minutes before finally getting to the window and when he I asked him to repeat to me what the order would now be he I realized that there were 2 items still that we didn't even substitute anything for because they didn't want to, they were aggravated, there was a long line in the drive thru and they were having to work. After going back and forth about what we could substitute for the other 2 items we waited for 15 more minutes for our food, once he handed us the bag of course I checked it to make sure we had all of our order and they just threw in food that we didn't ask for instead of what we actually ordered. I walked back to the window to get this corrected. Once we got home instead of my beef chalupa Supreme I got chicken. Instead of a soft taco Supreme we got a crunchy taco with chicken. Over all this was the worst...
