The Crab Shack La Habra — Restaurant in La Habra

First time visit with dear friend. Handicapped parking not located near restaurant. Even website states in-dining, but incorrect. Outside patio dining only at this time. You must order your food first, then seat yourself. Staff unable to answer questions regarding if crab is fresh. We ordered Dungeness Crab (whole), king Crab legs. Price over 150$$$. They informed us it would be over 45 minutes to prepare. We were second quests to arrive after opening. They also take phone orders. Time 5:20 pm. We waited and waited. 2 groups of tables 6 people/ 8 seated after us. Then table of 2 seated even though they had reservations, there table given to larger party and they had to wait. They said same thing happened previous Friday night service, but came back for another chance. Staff rude. We asked for water with lemon, then had to ask for napkin, then asked for gloves, then had to ask for crab cracker and blade as my legs too soft to break. It was now 6:48pm. Previous 3 groups now done with their dinners. I suggested to Manager to prepare paper tray with crab supplies so bus boy didn't have to make so many trips. As waiter approached with Dungeness crab had cut top off plastic bag and drop on ground. Quickly picked up, then disappeared with order. Manager gave 25% off meal for delay. My crab was not fresh , had greenish discoloration in meat. Staff very abrupt, too busy to help us. Maybe opened up too soon. We counted over 10 pickup orders that went out b4 our food came. Will not be returning again. Too many mishaps. Hate is a strong word, but so disappointed with our experience. $150 at other restaurants would call 4 no complaint since our expectations would be higher. But ☆ is plenty 4 our experience. If I would be able to put no stars I will. I loved this place food is good service was great until yesterday. My go to combo is #2 when I get home I realized I am missing my snow crab legs called the restaurant to let them know about the issue phone doesn’t ring just giving me some bogus error message. It was 9:20 they close at 10. What a coincidence phone is not working. Decided to drive out since I was not able to speak to anyone over the phone. Here I go waisting another 20 min to drive out there let Employee LIZ know I didn’t get my order right she now makes me wait even more because she needs to call her manager because she “can not be giving food away”. Give food away ? I paid for my order and did not receive it correctly let her know she can watch footage as I am just trying to get my order correct to feed my family and now they are delaying my dinner due to their ignorance after almost 10 min of calling her managers she wants to apologize and offer fries and beer. I did not take the offer I don’t need no fries I bought some myself a beer who wants to drink a beer after such inconvenience. I am not asking for free food I just want what I ordered. I finally get my crab legs 20 min later. By the time I got home 1 hour later food was cold ugh really not the dinner I had planned. Customers are paying over 100$ for food the least we can get is our order right and not get questioned instead of apologizing and making it right. Family of 4 - ordered combo#1, clam chowder, crab shack fried shrimp w/ fries

Combo #1 - 3 out of 5 We chose clam, shrimp with head on, and crawfish. It came with two corns( looked like one corn cut in half), four potatoes( probably two red potatoes cut in half), and some sausages. I think I will just get two pounds of shrimp and crawfish if I were ever to get this combo again. We got mild but it was a bit spicy for kids and too garlicky( too much chunk of garlic).

Clam chower- 1 out of 5 For 10.99 and the portion was just so tiny. There were hardly any clams but lots of celeries. I cannot believe I paid $11 for this "clam" chower.

Crab shack fried shrimp with fries - 4 out of 5 Probably the best from what we ordered. Fries tasted good, not soggy or tasted oily. There were like 6 fried shrimp that didn't need any more seasoning.
