I’ve seen Kitchen Nightmares and always thought those types of restaurants couldn’t possibly exist until I visited this one. I truly don’t understand how this place has good reviews and don’t be fooled it’s not authentic at all, there is no flavor.. maybe to white people because that’s all that I actually see eat here. The service was great, but unfortunately, that didn’t make up for the absolutely dreadful food. First the mild salsa tasted like like stewed tomatoes straight out of a can still with the metallic taste. The spicy was good not spicy though. I ordered the fish tacos and albondigas soup. The albondigas soup was lukewarm, tasted like onion water with zero seasoning, and the meatballs were bland no salt, no flavor, just nothing. I’m still baffled by how something like that could be served. As for the fish tacos, they were even worse. The battered white fish was soggy, sitting on a cold tortilla with some lettuce and shredded, pre-packaged cheese yes, cheese on a fish taco! But the real kicker? No sauce! It was incredibly dry and the fish didn’t taste like anything literally nothing. The rice was fine nothing special. To make matters worse, I ended up with salmonella (I’m talking a full week of sickness). I’m not being harsh here. I have no reason to lie, and I’d strongly advise anyone to avoid this place at all costs or eat here at...
Read moreI've been coming here since I was a kid. It was my first time coming back in over 30 years because I moved away. The place looks the same, old and outdated, but that's part of their charm. The booths still look the same. The atmosphere is dark and dingy, but don't let that fool you. The food is still good but was lacking in some flavor. I started off with a glass of sangria which was quite refreshing. I had the albondigas soup to start. It was good but could have used a bit more salt for flavor. I ordered the arroz con pollo and it was dryer than I recall it used to be, however it was still good.
The staff were older ladies who were nice and friendly but slower than molasses. The lady took our drink order, but we didn't get our drinks until the ifood cane. Seriously, drinks should not take that long.
Prices are extremely reasonable, and it was appreciated, especially now since every other restaurant has jacked up their prices for unnecessary reasons.
I will be back and give it another go in hopes that the service and food taste get better ţo the...
Read moreThat’s what I get for trying something in a hurry. I didn’t imagine you could ruin carne asada the way this restaurant did. The meat was incredibly dry, unflavored, old, no seasoning not even salt. It seems like no care was taken with this plate. I wish I could describe how awful this tasted. The beans were definitely canned and tasted that way too. The chips were stale and so were the flour tortillas. How do you ruin flour tortillas? They figured it out. The Jamaica water was just as bad as the carne asada and flour tortillas. We also got an albondiga soup but I didn’t waste time with it, just trashed it. I didn’t want to continue to ruin even more an already horrible dinner. Needless to say this is the first and only time I will ever waste money here. And I do mean waste because this was a wasted $24 dollars.
Please don’t waste your time and money here. All you’re going to do is punish your sense of taste. You can...
