Sunrise Donuts & Bakery — Restaurant in La Habra

Sandra - Nasty owner! I havebeen a loyal customer here dor 10+ years. Today I ordered by phone for pick up 3 boba drinks and some donuts. When we picked up our order my vanilla bean drink was done all wrong and it tastes like a nasty coffee flavor. So my turn went back in the shop to ask for a redo. Sandra charges my daughter another $6.25 to do a redo of the drink! My daughter explained the drink was done wrong and Sandra intimidated her to pay another $6.25. So my daughter paid it to avoid conflict. My daughter came back to me with the drink looking really upset. She told me what happened. I marched right back in there and told Sandra she took advantage of my teen daughter by charging her twice to correct a drink that we already paid for. She ARGUED with me. Then she reluctantly took out $6.25 fromher cash register and sneered at me. She then threatened me to never come back to her shop again and I was no longer a customer. Wow. So she spins it by charging us for another drink to replace the one she did incorrectly. Sandra, you are a terrible Business owner. You are fired!

One other episode 2 years ago that she did was she gave away my special order prepaid Valentines Donuts to someone else the morning I was supposed to pick them up. I gave her a other chance after she did that. After this incident I needed to post this review.

Sunrise is a great local bakery that seems to have a little bit of everything, mostly specializing in donuts, they have all the basics, glazed, apple fritters, bear claws, maple bars, etc. They also have "fancy donuts" that have a variety of toppings, like gummy bears, fruit loops, rice krispies, and the like. Aside from donuts you can find breakfast sandwiches, bagels, cakes, cupcakes, boba, cappuccino, nachos, and some other goodies...all at a very reasonable price. We had an apple fritters, fancy donut, guava Danish,small coffee, and a small hot chocolate for under $8. Service is quick and the place is well...

I absolutely love sunrise donuts. The difference in the flavor and service is evident. I used to go to several other places but since sunrise opened, I cannot fathom going elsewhere. The owner is super sweet and friendly which adds to its home feel. The donuts are great, the bakery items also great, the sandwiches are yummy, and the boba... I am yet to try. I say give it a try and I hope you...
