Fresheria La Mesa — Restaurant in La Mesa

Pulled over to Fresheria La Mesa in search of a healthy, light meal as it looked to fit my needs perfectly. They sport a great selection of tortas, sandwiches, wraps, juices, and I was surprised they even offered vegetable soup as well as some yummy looking Mexican snacks (definitely saving room for tostilocos for next time). Cashier was super friendly and helpful, offering to answer any questions.

I ordered a Cesar salad wrap, vegetable soup, and an unsweetened latte. Holy cow was I in for a surprise.

-The soup: just like my grandma makes, seriously. So delicious, aromatic, and hit the spot. -The Cesar salad wrap: great ratios, just the right amount of crunch, perfectly light but filling. -The latte: surprisingly good, never would have imagined such a delicious latte from what looks to be a juice bar. They had a variety of different flavors that I want to try next time--like Mexican hot chocolate--but I ordered it unsweetened because I wanted to really taste the espresso, and boy am I glad I did. Absolutely delicious.

Fresheria had recently opened in La Mesa. They offer very good healthy eats, smoothies, salads, and espresso based beverages, and teas.

I stopped in for breakfast and ordered the whole wheat breakfast bagel. I was so happy they offered a whole wheat bagel. It's so hard to find these days. The breakfast bagel came with scrambled eggs, ham, cheese, and tomato on the well toasted bagel. I also had an Americano with the meal.

The quality of the bagel was very good, and the eggs were well scrambled and lightly seasoned. A little more salt and black pepper would have been good however. It was a very good breakfast bagel.

The young lady who made my Americano was a newbie to making espresso and she did quite well. The coffee was very smooth and very flavorful. I had it black with a touch of cinnamon. Well done!

I stopped by Fresheria in La Mesa and was really impressed with this new local community spot! I ordered a torta de lomo, an açaí bowl, a corn cup, and a strawberry banana smoothie—and everything lived up to the name Fresh. The torta was packed with flavor and perfectly balanced, the açaí bowl was bright and refreshing, and the smoothie tasted like it was made with the freshest fruit. Even the corn cup had that perfect mix of creamy and savory. Will definitely try the breakfast and coffee menu real soon!

On top of that, the service was excellent—friendly, fast, and genuinely welcoming. You can tell they care about quality and making sure every customer leaves happy.
