Decided to give this place a try again after not visiting for years after they messed up an order of mine and gave me more attitude than I was comfortable with (for someone making my food) when asking them to remake it. The food was fine enough, definitely not great or even good though. Portion was admittedly generous, although kind of not really at the price. I'm not a cheap person and I have pretty good emotional control, but when the cashier told me the pepperoni added to my sub was gonna $9 I genuinely reacted loudly "DID YOU SAY $9?!" Some other employee walked over and "graciously" lowered the up charge to "just" $4.75, still too high but at least not as preposterous as before. I anxiously wait for the total as they don't have their prices listed on the menu board I ordered from, $44 for 2 sandwhiches!
I probably would've left if I wasn't trying to feed a hangry wife who had a schedule to keep. Turns out if I had just called my normal spot (New York New York a mile up the street) I probably would've had my food faster. On the phone they said ready in 20 minutes, it was over 30.
At this point I'm already not coming back, but we're not done. Cashier asks me if I need anything else, I simply respond "no." "Are you sure? Ketchup, napkins, mayo...?" she asks. I say again "no." Her response "oh well I'll just put some ketchup in there in case you change your mind." I was already annoyed you ask the same question twice, but then you don't even listen!
Also the ceiling is covered in water stains, I really don't mind old places, but it just shows poor maintenance/cleaning practices overall...
Read moreSummary: under staffed, long delays, food under cooked, no condiments. I sat outdoors for breakfast with a few other customers. Inside tables were over half full. Only one waiter was working multiple tables both inside and out. Long delays in service were obvious but I decided to stay. Eventually, after a rather long delay cycle, I sat with a coffee and menu before me. I ordered a simple eggs over easy, bacon and wheat toast. Twice the normal time passed until the food arrived. I asked for utensils. Another delay. With the food nicely cooled off it was apparent that the egg whites were still runny, clearly under-cooked and I wondered if the yokes had reached cooking temperature on the grill. Toast was dry. No butter, jelly or condiments were provided. I grabbed a salt and pepper off a table nearby. After one taste I asked for the ticket and, after another delay, paid. Two stars out of pity for the owner. I know staffing is difficult but seriously, simple rope off all but 5 inside tables. And for God sake get someone in the back...
Read moreHorrible service and the wait takes forever! Just came here today to get a to-go order for a turkey sandwich and a turkey club sandwich. Easy enough you would think...but the staff seemed very disorganized with how to wait and serve on the customers. The place was barely crowded for a lunch time on a saturday and yet I literally waited over a half hour for only 2 cold sandwiches. I watched the cashier struggle with orders and the waitresses were very unprofessional. Not only was the place very stuffy and dirty, 4 cashiers/hosts were just standing in front of the register just messing around and I could see the cook in the back struggling making simple meals in a timely manner. I usually am a patient customer and have worked in the food business many times, but when there are not many customers before me and I witnesses all of this occurring, I know now why they aren't packed. When i finally got my food and had it at home, it was mediocre so that is why they are getting even 1 star. Sorry Gus, but i wont be...
