I went online to order 2 pizzas, wings and a sub from the LaPlata, Md store. One pizza was a philly cheesesteak. I had the option to add toppings which I did not do. We wanted it plain. Well, we get the pizza and it has everything on it! We call and are on hold for over 8 minutes before Austin answers. I begin to tell him about the issue and he says “yeah, you ordered a specialty pizza and they get everything on them plus you didn’t select to remove any toppings”. I said I didn’t select to ADD any toppings because I wanted it plain. The option, online, was to add individual toppings not to remove them. He said from his side it said to make the pizza with all the toppings on it. I asked if he could send me over a plain one. He said yeah if you pay for it.
Really?????
Ok, let’s say I’m wrong and the option for sides was to remove them and not to add them like I thought, ok. I just spent $55 on an order at your store and I added a $10 tip on arrival. Also, if you were to look at my history with your store you would see that we consistently order from Dominos La Plata and have spent a lot of money with you! So you would rather stand firm on you being right and me being wrong rather than send out another $7 - $10 pizza for free to a good customer?
I’m a customer service manager for a local retail store that does over $15 million in annual sales and I assure you that if my customer comes back and has a problem with something my team or I did they would be well taken care of! You know why we wouldn’t debate with our customer? Because customer perception is customer reality!! If you do not take care of the customer they will tell people about their poor experience and they will go on Google and write reviews like this! lol. Somebody needs to do some customer service training at the Dominos in LaPlata Md.
Last. While I was on hold I went back to my online order summary and filled out the survey regarding my experience. I gave 5 stars to the driver named Christopher but gave 1 star to Austin who made the pizza. I also commented that my order was made wrong. I felt strongly, based on the way Austin acted while speaking with me, that he may have seen my review as soon as I completed it because he literally cut me off when I started to explain why the order was wrong and he already knew what I was going to say. My wife refused to let me pay for a new pizza at that point for fear of spitting in our food which we know for a fact happens! Interrupted me when speaking, has no skills or customer etiquette. Called to complain they did not give my son the specialty pizza prices as advertised on TV, YOUR WEBSITE & YOUR FACEBOOK for Pizzas I asked him to get for me so he didn't know he was charged the wrong price. My phone call was made after he stopped by there to ask them about it. I have never dealt with such a rude manager who is not willing to work with a customer before. All that we wanted was an adjustment/credit for the difference. Was charged $37.05 for 2 Pizzas that are advertised at $11.99 each. LaPlata Domino's has just lost a customer because of this manager. Others will know of my experience. There are other Domino's in the area to order from. Food was excellent, Delivery and Service was done quickly, and Delivery Person was very Polite and we Received our Order a lot faster than we thought, about 20 minutes or so give or take earlier! We we able to save $12.00 using the Discount Promotion they're currently having. The Food was Hot, Fresh, and cooked to perfection and exactly how we asked for the Pizza to be made! Also, very nice and easy to use website as well as nice features with being able to build our own pizza, as well as once placing an Order being able to watch online what exactly was being done such as Order Received, Order being cooked, Order being checked, and also when Order was sent out for Delivery.
