Read moreI’m in love, love, love with their food!! Not a restaurant you would expect to find in La Porte, but if you live here or find yourself stopping by, then do not miss out on this amazing restaurant. First impressions first. I was greeted warmly by the staff, and even both the owners, Ed and Jody, stopped by my table to welcome me! The place is decorated so nicely and it is spotlessly clean.
Next to the food…which meal should I tell you about!!! I ate there five times while in town to visit a friend. I hit up their breakfast twice, one the breakfast burrito and once the biscuits and gravy. Both were deeelicious. And super inexpensive for how filling they were!
The other three meals were dinners, I tried The Wedge salad, the Bistro Burger and the crab cakes. All were to die for. I loved the Wedge so much I had it twice. All of the food was fresh, complex and so flavorful I wanted more. Every time I left I was so full. The portion sizes are so generous and the prices are so fair, you can’t go wrong. If this restaurant was in Houston, it would cost you a lot more!
The bar serves up delicious drinks and the wine list is so extensive, it could take you all night to go through it. But Ed’s extensive wine knowledge will help guide you to the perfect choice.
So, very long story short…don’t miss out on the full dining experience at Ed’s Bistro. I know when I’m back in town, I’ll be back for more of their exceptional food. Thanks Ed and Jody, see...
Read moreWe were so pleased with our dinner tonight. I'm rarely impressed with meals, so much that my wife would say never. Well, I'm happy to say this night stood out.
We were conflicted about where to eat and my wife had mentioned that she wanted to try the "new bistro on Main". I reluctantly agreed...but was so thankful that I did.
We tried and split a few different dishes, Oysters Rockefeller, Caesar salad, and the halibut featured entree. Ed graciously walked me through some different wine pairings and I was definitely happy with our choices. Even my wife was impressed with her virgin mojito. But we saved the best for last apparently. We were both still debating ordering another small plate to finish us off and through some recommendations from Ed, we landed on the Fritto Misto. This is one of the best dishes I've ever had. Lightly battered shrimp, calamari, lobster, and artichoke hearts with a black garlic aioli, and a pineapple reduction. If you like seafood, you MUST order this dish. I never order lobster because it's expensive and usually overcooked. This time it was perfect. So much flavor, our table was silent we were so focused. What a great note to end on. Thank you to Ed for entertaining my wife and I for what turned out to be a wonderful Friday night date and we appreciate the hospitality even after we realized we ordered the last dish well after your closing time. Looking forward to the wine dinners with...
