YOU HAVE TO EAT HERE. Ed's Bistro is by far the best brunch spot I've been to. Everything about this place is absolutely amazing. I've been to Ed's twice. The first time, I was blown away by the level of service, friendliness, food quality, atmosphere, etc. I thought maybe it would be a one-off experience. I was wrong! I came back a month later and found that my experience only improved the second time around. I highly recommend the black Angus steak Benedict. Each bite is a taste of heaven! The potatoes are indescribably delicious. They are so savory and are nicely browned on the outside while maintaining a soft/moist inside. The shrimp grits with ham are also very very delicious. If you go for brunch, endless mimosas/Bellinis are a must. The desserts are good and are paired with carefully selected dessert wines. The food aside, Ed's has GREAT atmosphere that makes the place feel clean and welcoming. The restaurant is a small local restaurant. They have a nice dog-friendly outdoor patio that is being improved little by little as the weather cools down. The service is unmatched. I'm very excited to continue going to Ed's to try new dishes and see how their food and upscale atmosphere evolves as they continue to grow. Simply put: this place is a must-try.

We planned to go to the food truck park but they closed or something on a beautiful Saturday afternoon! So we walked down main and stumbled on Ed's. We had their very expensive brunch.. (expensive for us anyway) The "stuffed" French toast wasn't actually stuffed. It's just one piece of toast folded on top of another with a cream in between. More like a sandwich. For 20 bucks I expected more than 2 slices of French toast.. you can choose to get a tiny side of either fruit, grits or potatoes. I got the fruit, it was mostly watermelon. But eggs or some form of protein would have made the meal worth the money. I was very pleased that they used real maple syrup! And the taste of the French toast was very good, and the presentation was great! The biscuits and gravy were tiny. You get 2. But I was told the gravy was the best they ever tasted. Still not worth $16 given it also didn't come with any protein. They got potatoes as their side. The potatoes were dry and needed to be covered in gravy to make them taste good. Now we did see some burgers come out that looked amazing! But I don't think we will be back simply based on price. But you should try it. It's great to support local and small when possible.

I’m in love, love, love with their food!! Not a restaurant you would expect to find in La Porte, but if you live here or find yourself stopping by, then do not miss out on this amazing restaurant. First impressions first. I was greeted warmly by the staff, and even both the owners, Ed and Jody, stopped by my table to welcome me! The place is decorated so nicely and it is spotlessly clean.

Next to the food…which meal should I tell you about!!! I ate there five times while in town to visit a friend. I hit up their breakfast twice, one the breakfast burrito and once the biscuits and gravy. Both were deeelicious. And super inexpensive for how filling they were!

The other three meals were dinners, I tried The Wedge salad, the Bistro Burger and the crab cakes. All were to die for. I loved the Wedge so much I had it twice. All of the food was fresh, complex and so flavorful I wanted more. Every time I left I was so full. The portion sizes are so generous and the prices are so fair, you can’t go wrong. If this restaurant was in Houston, it would cost you a lot more!

The bar serves up delicious drinks and the wine list is so extensive, it could take you all night to go through it. But Ed’s extensive wine knowledge will help guide you to the perfect choice.

So, very long story short…don’t miss out on the full dining experience at Ed’s Bistro. I know when I’m back in town, I’ll be back for more of their exceptional food. Thanks Ed and Jody, see...

We were so pleased with our dinner tonight. I'm rarely impressed with meals, so much that my wife would say never. Well, I'm happy to say this night stood out.

We were conflicted about where to eat and my wife had mentioned that she wanted to try the "new bistro on Main". I reluctantly agreed...but was so thankful that I did.

We tried and split a few different dishes, Oysters Rockefeller, Caesar salad, and the halibut featured entree. Ed graciously walked me through some different wine pairings and I was definitely happy with our choices. Even my wife was impressed with her virgin mojito. But we saved the best for last apparently. We were both still debating ordering another small plate to finish us off and through some recommendations from Ed, we landed on the Fritto Misto. This is one of the best dishes I've ever had. Lightly battered shrimp, calamari, lobster, and artichoke hearts with a black garlic aioli, and a pineapple reduction. If you like seafood, you MUST order this dish. I never order lobster because it's expensive and usually overcooked. This time it was perfect. So much flavor, our table was silent we were so focused. What a great note to end on. Thank you to Ed for entertaining my wife and I for what turned out to be a wonderful Friday night date and we appreciate the hospitality even after we realized we ordered the last dish well after your closing time. Looking forward to the wine dinners with...
