New China Mongolian BBQ — Restaurant in La Verne

This place is legit. If you can’t decide between Chinese and Mongolian BBQ, this is a must stop.

They do both very well. Food all around was good to excellent, if you think off self service fast food for both. Place was super clean and busy at 8pm on a weeknight, so everything still looked fresh.

I tried a little bit of everything, but Mongolian was the stand out. They do charge by the lb so go slow, you can always order more. You will see that we went all in :) about $50 worth 😝😝😝I even tried the hot and sour soup that was made fresh for only $8.99. Only wish they had the option for single serving, since it was just for me. Oh well, leftovers for the weekend.

So why only 4 stars? To be honest, if I only go back for Mongolian BBQ, others do it better. They only had garlic water and hot sauce for seasoning. They will add teriyaki while they cook if asked, but some others have various combinations to suit different preferences.

Ordered Egg Foo Young a couple of days ago for my wife who loves this from there, but the past 2 months, their quality has drastically changed. Past 2 months we keep getting it charred on the outside and gooey on the inside like it was cooked to fast at a temperature too high. She also loved their Corn Egg drop Soup, but this has also changed a lot. Used to be a nice yellow colour the way it had been for the past 2 years. Now its orange and doesn't taste that good anymore. Also noticed they have some new employees working the cashier for the past 2 months as well. Guessing they may have also got a different cooks working in the back, because some of the dishes are now being prepared differently the past 2 months. Use to like coming here since this place opened, but not lately. So...

W.. O.. R.. M.. S!! 🤢🤮 We were there yesterday 9/16/21...had the Mongolian beef with broccoli and half way thru the meal we find a worm! Absolutely disgusting. If you have any idea how gross this is then you know! When we attempted to get refund the cashier said I'll have the owner call you.... Seriously!? You give a refund!! We ha to fight for the refund.. The cashier has the balls to ask did you get that here!? We were sitting outside at their tables and we literally just paid about 10 min before.... Then he asks well is it alive or dead? Are you for real bro! What does that matter... A worm in the food is just bad no matter what... This means they are not properly following health protocols. What else is not cleaned correctly...and what else has gone...
