Jimbo's Diner — Restaurant in La Vista

We were at Jimbo's for New year's Eve we had a party of 12. We all ate dinner and played Keno from 5 pm until close. Because we were sitting in the diner when it came around for the New year celebration everyone in the diner was excluded from the festivities. Michelle the general manager informed the waitresses not to bring champagne or even doughnuts to the customers in the diner. Apparently the customers in the diner were not as important as the people in the Keno parlor. Michelle was extremely rude and really needs some training as to how to treat customers. We come to Jimbo's at least twice a week if not more and always with a party of 7 to 10 people. Michelle managed to ruin our New year's Eve and the other group that was also in the diner. It's ashame to let someone such as Michelle run your good and loyal customers off. We will be looking for a new place to go. I hope Michelle gets the training she needs soon. UPDATE: I was seriously thinking of not going back to Jimbo's but after the quick reply from Grant the manager we decided to go back. We were greeted the moment we walked through the door by Grant. He made sure we were taken care of and we enjoyed our visit back. Our waitress was Natasha she did a phenomenal job taking care of our table. We enjoy going to Jimbo's and have made so many friends there. I have to admit, I'm a bit disappointed.

At the Restaurant: Upon picking up our order, my significant other waited about 5 minutes in the restaurant for help. She said that most of the staff was just standing around or talking, which isn't a huge deal since we're relatively patient people, but to not even acknowledge her being there for 5 minutes is very frustrating. Especially when she mentioned that a waitress saw her walk in & rushed into the kitchen.

The Food: Upon getting home, we found that the order was a bit messed up. Nothing serious, but I was definitely pouting over the forgotten frenchies (I'm a french fry fiend!) I don't want to be rude or anything, but the food itself was pretty bad. The club sandwich was bland and greasy. The fried chicken had soggy crust & had no taste whatsoever. The spaghetti & meatballs needed way more sauce & was lacking in flavor. And don't even get me started on the potato salad. It wasn't the worst I've ever had, but it was definitely the blandest.

All in all, I don't think we'll be returning. I don't usually write reviews, but for this, I felt obligated. I was just so disappointed that literally everything ($50 worth of food) went to waste.

Tips for Owner: I'm not really a restaurant specialist or anything like that, but I'd recommend hiring on a more assertive team lead to help keep staff organized, shorten up the menu a bit, & maybe close doors for a weekend to test around with some new flavors...

I used to come here few years ago but recently learned they got new owners/management. We got there at about 10am left at 1pm... but the whole time the waiters stood around in their nook or walked past our table is wasn’t until a young man walked by and we stopped him and asked who our waiter was because we had waited over an hour just get our food ordered. He took our order and stopped a few times for drink checks when we first got there we had two other waitresses stop to try and order our drinks and food but they never got back to us. Bathroom has potential but the soap were torn off the wall, and there was no paper towels. The waiters don’t where a mask and hover over your shoulder when you pull out money to pay the bill. The keno was pretty fast pace. Over all the food wasn’t something I really liked sausage patty was dry, eggs were okay the hash browns were okay and the pancakes were good. No free refills for kids milk or juice only sodas. The kids meals were pretty generous so that’s a plus. And overall wasn’t the expensive. $40 for 3 adults and two kids. Kids meals are $4.99 and one got French toast, eggs, hash browns and a piece of bacon. The other got the classic we she got eggs, hash brown, sausage link and I gave her a pancake since I had asked for her a pancake but not sure what exactly went where. I mean the setting looks nice I just won’t be going back unless Someone else...
