The service was friendly enough although they seemed a bit harried. I gave four stars for atmosphere because I ordered take out and there didn't really seem to be anything to the place that warranted an atmosphere rating (it was tables that could accommodate food—and they came with chairs). The food was pretty marginal overall with the exception of the hush puppies. Fish and chips is sort of a backup go-to for me when I'm traveling because it's never made me ill as long as the inside of the fish is hot. If the place is a dump, the fish probably went from a Sysco truck to their freezer to the fryer, so there's little margin for error. That said, this was slightly better than average, but I'd definitely try someplace else before I went back. My problem was with the cost and the fact that I felt like I got a bit taken after looking at the receipts. I ordered online and they don't let you pay through the website, so I have two receipts (attached). The one that's only black and white is the online receipt. The up-charge to fried pickles was $1.50, but had increased to $2.00 at the store. The soda was advertised as 32oz but was 24oz at the store (and they did in fact give me Pepsi rather than Diet Pepsi—but I was on my way to an appointment and dealt with it). I have no idea what the $0.75 custom item charge was for, and the $1.00 custom item charge was for not paying cash. Tack on the 15% tip for the take out order and I paid $41 and change for an entree and a soda, which wasn't really what I signed up for. But again, I was in a hurry to get somewhere—and already smelled like a fish house just from walking in the door—so I ran with it.

Team Hunt had lunch at Beau Legs yesterday. It was our first time there... It will NOT be the last! I didn't try everything on the menu (yet), but everything I tried was On Point 100%! We started with fried okra and hushpuppies and both were amazing! Just perfect! Next I had the catfish and shrimp. Three big butterfly shrimp and two large catfish fillets. I can't overstate how good the catfish was! The shrimp was perfectly cooked and delicious, but that catfish really took this southern boy home! I don't know how I'll get to anything else on the menu, because I'm gonna want that catfish every time I visit! My wife has NEVER liked catfish and she absolutely loved this catfish! My better half had the halibut and (we all sampled each other's lunch) it was very good. Buttery and tender inside and a nice batter fry crust outside. Very good! Both the kids had chicken & waffles and everyone agreed it was very good. I think the youngest would have liked it better if it was chicken tenders or boneless, but you know kids. I think next time we'll ask to substitute catfish for the chicken... Catfish & waffles? Our waitress was super friendly and conversational without being chatty. It's her family's place and she said all food was made from Grandma's recipes and that Gramma was from Baton Rouge. I've lived in Louisiana and I believe it! Go gitchoo some Beau Legs, y'all! Try it all, but make sure you get some catfish and fried okra!

First of all, just don’t. Second of all, where do I begin? Okay so my fiancé and I ordered drinks he ordered the mango lemonade: it was wayyy too sour he took one sip and asked for just water and he didn’t want the lemonade. The waitress came back and said “the people above her said that they still had to charge us for it” FOR TWO SIPS OF A DRINK THAT WAS UNDRINKABLE. We got past that and still decided to order. The hush puppies were decent, the Mac n cheese was ok. I personally liked the fries. According to my fiancé the catfish was too crunchy with no flavor and the shrimp and chicken all tasted like they were cooked in the same grease. The worst part was the pork chops although the seasoning was decent one pork chop was cooked through and the other was pink with some blood severely undercooked in my opinion. We didn’t even complain because we were already frustrated with the having to pay for a drink that we didn’t like. And if they would’ve told us we had to pay for the meal too it wouldn’t have been pretty. Just don’t go here. Period. The waitress with the pink hair was nice tho.

TLDR; At their current prices and customer service skill level I cannot recommend this place to anyone. At $80+ with tip, I feel I was ripped off and will not be going back.

I placed an online order for 2 people, a few days ago (9/21/22). I placed the order at 6:30pm to be ready by 7:15pm. I arrived at 7:15pm, and the order was not ready. Right off the bat there were price discrepancies between their website (where I ordered), and what was being charged when they ran my card. On the website their prices are lower than what was charged (still not fixed and I brought this to the attention of the staff). They offered a 32oz drink option, that they don't actually sell because their largest size is 24 oz (also brought to the attention of the staff and is still not fixed). They did not honor the prices from their website, only insisting that they had recently changed and they needed to update them.

Around 7:20pm is when I paid, they told me the food would be ready in 2-3 minutes. After waiting for 10 minutes I asked about how much longer and was told it wouldn't be long (now 7:30, 15 minutes late). Around 7:45pm the lady comes out yells my name and drops the bag on the counter and walks away immediately. As we had a large order I didn't know if there was another bag or not, so I had to shout to her while she was in the back if there was another bag. She came out looking rather annoyed and told me there wasn't. Took the bag and got out.

When we got home we got everything out of the bag (2 shrimp po' boys, fried pickles, hush puppies, mac and cheese, red beans and rice, and grits). The portion sizes are TINY for how much they charge. The shrimp po'boy was half the size we were anticipating, $6 mac and cheese and the other 2 sides were at most 4oz. We also ordered a "Sweet Potato Pie" and got what tasted like pumpkin pie from Costco. The food was actually decent, I'd give it a 6/10. But the overall experience was tainted by their...

The workers present on the night of March 8th 2024 were an embarrassment to this establishment!

Ordered a LG clam strip basket, and a LG shrimp basket at 5:08pm and was told it would be ready at 5:40. I show at 5:38 just to see every table full and waiting on food along with a long pickup line totaling 19 people all hungry and unhappy. While waiting 1 of the 3 workers present ( they only had a staff of 3!!!! ) announced that there will be no more hush puppies due to the cook who is apparently the restaurant owners son broke the utensil needed. Then a couple minutes later they announced that there will be no more shrimp, pulled pork, or pork chops with no explanation. I eventually made it to the front of the line at 6:20 totaling over a hour since my order was placed and 40 minutes past the time I was told it was to be done, just for the cashier to inform me that the cook who answered the phone (the restaurant owners son) never even wrote down my order or any of the other ones that called in. After telling them what I had they said they were about to start cooking it, reminder they are out of shrimp and hush puppies! So I asked if I was getting the shrimp basket and they said they were not sure while pressuring me to go ahead and pay. I told them I’m not paying until I see my order and asked for the hush puppies to be taken off of my ticket since they weren’t providing them due to incompetence. After a brief argument of them refusing to not charge me for a item they could not provide I left and wasted hours of my life on a failing establishment. I do not recommend eating here. The food and service is acceptable on days where the actual owner runs it, but on days where it’s ran just by other staff the food is terrible and taste like old greese, the environment feels like they don’t want to be there and get irritated when customers show, and it takes at minimum a hour to...

I decided to try this place despite being told by someone else that they had a bad experience there. I tried calling a few times before leaving my work to place my order ahead, but no one would answer the phone. When I arrived, I saw that they were very busy so I was excited about trying some good food. Boy, was I mistaken. I drove 15 minutes out of my way, waited 30 minutes for my food, and drove another 20 minutes home and the food was disgusting. I threw it away shortly after trying little bits of everything hoping that at least something would taste good. I also noticed that I was feeling sick. I went to sleep hoping that I would feel better later, but sure enough I woke up an hour later and sprinted to the bathroom. I was up that entire evening and most of the day ill as can be. When I finally felt well enough to call and request a refund, the woman was very rude, and constantly talked over me, denying me a refund and denying that I was experiencing any kind of illness related to their food even though it was the only thing I had had to eat in a 24-hour period. She swore up and down that “their fish was fresh.” She even went as far as saying that I must be gluten intolerant and ate their food anyway. WHAT?? I didn’t even bother trying to explain to her that it was the rancid oil I tasted since I knew I would just be interrupted. Rancid oil is a common source of food-borne illness with fried foods. I had my bank cancel the transaction because I am not paying for food that I barely ate and that made me ill. Checked my account today and the merchant REVERSED it. If they continue touching my bank account, I will be reporting them to the health authorities and whatever other legal association that I need to. I would leave 0/5 stars if I could. Will never EVER eat here again. Disgusting food and disgusting...
