This shop is amazing for the diverse treats it offers its community. The customer service is a bit weak, and there seems to be confusion on how to order ahead.
My father is diabetic and I was trying to order him his favorite cake in Keto neck in October. When I called, I was told to go to their website to pre-order. Which wasn't an option on there. When I called back I was told to order through Doordash. But that also doesn't give you the option to customize an order, you basically just get what you get. Which I can't do with him, because for as long as I can remember the man will only touch 1 cake.
Fast forward a few months, I started my keto diet for the new year. Again was told to order through doordash. It was a large order to help me get through my "sweet treat" addiction for the month. I ordered Friday and it was scheduled to pick up Monday. It's picked up Monday, $122. I go and pick it up and half of the things I ordered wasn't available. Which was crazy because I ordered ahead of time to avoid this. I was very disappointed and was left with only scones, cupcakes, and donuts. Which wouldn't of been my first option. I would have rather had the the refunded items. But they did help me avoid actual donuts and other sweets this last week.
The next day, Tuesday I picked up a donut, and there was mold on it. I literally just picked this box up the day before, so I thought the green spot was a rouge sprinkle from the bakery, and the white stuff I was seeing was also something from the bakery. Still... I got the ick and picked up the chocolate donut and saw a mold spot on it... these donuts are about $4 each.... I sent a message via Facebook because I thought maybe they were only good for a day, idk I'm new to Keto. Turns out they are supposed to be good for over a week. So that's $8 wasted. This is where I get a bit upset. They educates me a bit which was great, but didn't offer a swap or anything. Was told to call ahead and order when making such a large order, but the last time I called, they said they don't take orders over the phone. So I'm not exactly sure how to get large orders in.
I'm a single mom to 3, and really couldn't afford to do my keto diet, but took that leap anyways for myself, so to see the lack of customer service was disappointing. Just because of the money spent.
Will definitely be calling ahead, to ask when they bake their keto batches fresh, and will definitely be going in store to put in my orders going forward, it's just hard to do when you work 50+ hours a week...
Read moreI was looking for a different cupcake place since Abby's Cookies and Cupcakes permanently closed. Unfortunately, Miss Moffett's does not compare. If I was strictly rating the visual appeal of these cupcakes it would be 4 out of 5 stars. You can definitely see that the individuals that made these cupcakes put hard work into them. However, for me to justify paying over $30 for 6 cupcakes, the flavor and texture has to be good as well. I have ordered Miss Moffet's twice(keto and regular) because the first time I tried the cupcakes, they were incredibly dry. I figured they might be dry because I purchased them towards the end of the day. The second time I purchased them was earlier in the day, and the cupcakes were STILL incredibly dry. I also ordered a cookie and that was incredibly dry as well. I understand that these are gluten free and natural, but Abby's Cupcakes were also natural and gluten free and they were incredibly moist regardless of what time of day you purchased them. Overall I do feel slightly ripped off, but the positives are that the cupcakes are visually appealing and the frosting is pretty decent considering I'm not a frosting person. The flavor and texture of these make it seem like the cupcakes and cookies were a couple of days old and just sitting out.If I'm going to spend this much on cupcakes, my hope is that it's visually appealing, the cupcakes have cake-like texture, and the flavor is delicious. This was definitely not the case :(.
**Edit: I meant to say I paid over $20 dollars, I apologize for that oversight. However, these cupcakes are still $23-$24 after tax which is higher than average. I do understand that you use high quality and more expensive ingredients, but my hope was that I would get a high quality taste and texture for the price I am paying and that wasn't the case. I definitely appreciate the fact that you have not increased your prices, especially, since the price of all ingredients have gone up as a result of...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I wanted to like this place. Everything here looks appetizing. Unfortunately the taste didn't match. We tried 3 keto cupcakes, a keto snickerdoodle, a regular snickerdoodle, and a regular Samoa cookie. This came to a bit over $30, so I feel that high expectations are reasonable.
We have some experience with keto baking and if we baked anything we bought today we would have considered it a failure and thrown out the batch. We both took a small bite of everything and threw the rest in the trash, so unfortunately no photos.
We started with the regular Samoa cookie, it seemed like a large chocolate chip cookie with a pile of frosting and some toppings. It looked really tasty. I took a bite and was shocked to have a strong anise or black licorice flavor. This was just plain awful. No way to see past that. It was a gross combination of flavors. I kind of hope someone screwed up and grabbed the wrong ingredient or something, but either way, this cookie went into the trash with extreme prejudice.
At this point I was horrified and side-eyeing the rest of the treats we bought. Luckily nothing else was that bad.
The keto cupcakes had a grainy texture, very similar to cornbread. The flavor of the cake itself was kind of like soapy cornbread. The frosting texture was pretty good, the frosting flavor varied from 'meh' to straight up 'yuck'.
We didn't care for either the keto or regular snickerdoodles. The keto snickerdoodle was the best thing we tried, but even as the best it was dry, grainy, and pretty much just tasted like almond flour and erythritol. The regular snickerdoodle's flavor and texture was just off and overall worse than the keto version somehow.
We won't ever eat anything from here again. If you feel like you must try something I would advise buying one item and trying that before deciding on...
