Edit. I hate to do it, because this is the only place like it close to me, but hopefully management sees this and does something about this problem.
Yesterday we popped in for lunch. My son loves the interactivity of the moving food, so do I. It's cool.
HOWEVER
They need to step up their cleanliness. Especially in a place where you are eating raw fish, they need to be cleaner. I won't be back unless I hear back that this issue is corrected.
When we sat down, I looked at the little bowls that you're supposed to put your soy sauce in. You can see in my photos that they both had a nasty brown crust in the corners. I wondered if maybe it was just a oxidation or some weird stain from the dishwasher. But I scraped it with my nail and no, they just need to scrub their dishes. I would recommend maybe getting more round-shaped rather than sharp corners for their soy sauce bowls, because they apparently are incapable of cleaning these.
It's really gross. Had to adjust my star rating. Cleanliness is part of service, and definitely part of atmosphere.
Good little spot for Kaitenzushi, aka Sushi that moves on a conveyor belt type device. The prices are fair, and the quality is decent. The choices are more crowd pleaser types of sushi, some heavy on sauce, some fried, etc. But there was also a good selection of more traditional sushi items like sashimi and recognizable cut rolls. My son had a good time pointing at items for me to grab, and the restaurant was kid friendly. Not 5 stars because it was not a gourmet place, and the quality could come up another notch, but I'm sure the price would too. You can also order off the menu, which we did not do, I did notice they had Takoyaki on there so I will need to return to try that, as it's a...
Read moreI won't be going back. My daughter and I were the only people in there. The waitress was very timid, almost like I scared her, but she was doing a good job. There was a lot of sushi on the belt. I asked to an honest opinion of how long the sushi had been out. The waitress was honest and said that it had been there since the start of her shift so it was probably from lunch- we were there at 5:30. I ordered a couple things off the menu. I asked the waitress if I could order the belt sized sushi from the menu or if ordering would make it full sized. She said that I could and got confirmation about it. When I was handed the rolls, they were in double plates and had 2 portions of what the belt had. If I was told that was ordering half a roll instead of 1/4 of a roll then I wouldn't have ordered as many pieces. The worst part was that the older man, who seemed to be the boss, clearly messed up my roll. I was so over being there that I just started eating and then he must have realized it and gave me a side of the missing sauce. The roll was sloppy. What was crazy was that there was a younger guy helping me and the rolls he made for me were actually visually appealing. He made them look very appetizing. Had he made all my rolls then I would have given this place 3 stars. A few regulars walked in and they got a completely different experience. I could feel the huge jump. When they walked in, they started adding fresh sushi and fried options the belt. Honestly, that was frustrating because that means that they could have given me the belt sized portion and added the remaining parts to the belt. My hunt for a good belt sushi...
Read moreBeen eating sushi for a few years and never really found my place. I was taken here by some guys at work and I loved it. I don't know the names of sushi rolls, have a taste for exotic fish, or really care about spending $30 a person to eat fish.
Here though it is great. I can see what is being offered, what it looks like, and how much it is. (someone else said they couldnt figure out how much the plates are but..) The plates are all colored and on every wall, and on every menu it says how much they are. They is 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5 plates and other colors ive never seen that are higher up. Basically everything comes on a pink plate is cost you a dollar and fifty cents per plate. Normally about 4 or 5 plates I am good.
Also you can order something and they will bring it to you. I ordered a Vegas Roll (deep fried with spicy mayo) and it also came out on a $1.50 plate. They sell beer and wine, and also have none sushi things for your parents or kids that wont eat sushi. They guys were making a crack about how i wouldnt find a hot dog on the belt, and then there was chicken fingers making their way around. The chef is awesome, easy to talk to. The hostess is very friendly and prompt.
All in all best sushi I know. Yes its not 5 star. But its not bad with 5 star prices. Its cheep, easy, fast, very good (IMO), and something that if someone has never seen it can be...
