So I went through the drive thru tonight, and I was psyched to try the bacon ranch burger and also flame thrower burger. Ali at the window was super cool, he scanned my card, asked if I wanted a receipt, I said no, then asked me to park out front due to the volume of food I ordered. No problemo! So I parked out front. 5-10 mins later a young guy named brian, who also seemed super chill, came out and explained to me he was confused about my order. He had a copy of my receipt, and said that even though I had paid, there might have been a glitch, so he wasn't sure if I had paid or not. He also noted that my food was ready to go in the back. Then he laid out two choices I had, I could let them run my card again, potentially doubling the price of my order, because again they weren't sure if my card had gone through or not despite having a receipt which he said was proof that I had paid, or in so many words that I could take my chances to try to get a refund online, once again assuming my card had been charged, which he wasnt sure of. Guy was really confused and was asking me permission to not give me my food. Either way, though it seems that I would have to go online sort it out because he was confused as he stated himself. I would rate the food in this review, but i never received it as I decided to go to wendys. Same order was half the price over there and I did not have to park out front and chat with brian the manager...
Read moreI went through the drive thru on Tuesday 6.11.24, at 2:52 PM. They weren't busy. All I ordered was two (2) Medium Dipped Chocolate Cones. What I received (they were shoved at me through the window) was two SMALL cones. I asked the guy who handed them to me, "I ordered two medium cones - these look small" In a hurried, dismissive tone, I got, "The cones are bigger - that makes them a medium". "OK, but I'm paying for a medium ice cream and I don't care how much bigger the cone size is" (not much) By this time, the guy had closed the window and walked away.
So, before I get a comment from someone saying that it's the same volume or the cone size diffuses the actual height of the cone - I'm not paying for a cone - I'm paying for the ice cream (ahem...I'm OVERPAYING for the ice cream). I've been cooking and managing restaurants since the early '90's. I know when someone is just giving minimum effort for minimum wage. I've also broken down, repaired, refilled and operated several different soft serve machines - You guys are shorting people...I know what a soft serve pull should look like.
TO THE BUYER BEWARE: Don't be conned by a "larger cone". You're not getting your money's worth. DQ used to make amazing cones with a definitive height to their cones. Now they look like sad droppings on an "edible" cone.

It's 2022 and I just got a new phone (yes - a Pixel 7 Pro - love it!) so I downloaded the app. FYI - the app is really well designed and easy to use. Totally recommend it.
Selected this DQ, which is closest to our house. Selected our blizzards - wife chose a medium Reese's Peanut Butter Cup and I ordered a medium M&M blizzard.
When I arrived at DQ - there was a line at the drive thru, looked like 4-5 cars.
There were plenty of stalls available - nice.
There were a few cars filled with people who seemed to be eating their food. It is always fun to hear people having fun while they are enjoying some great food.
There was no one inside at any of the tables/booths...but it was 7:30 in the evening, which makes sense.
The place was spotless. The crew was busy but I was cheerfully welcomed by two team members.
I let them know I was there to pick up an online order. I gave them my name and they had them ready to go.
The blizzards were amazing!
