I think this place still has potential but I see a need for some swift changes.
Upon being seated, I was led to a booth but the cushion itself was detached from the foundation. So, that was odd. The decor is 'homey' and it seems random stuff has been assembled to make the restaurant just that -- a restaurant. The music through me off next. Think 80's and 90's but it further confuses me with the theme.
I could totally deal with the above if the food was bomb. But it sadly was not. I ordered street tacos with rice and beans, chips and salsa (which is a paid app), and a drink from the bar menu.
The chips were blah. Doubt they are homemade but the salsa is pretty decent. The drink I ordered, was fabulous however and the highlight of the experience! My food came and the beans were super, super salty. I mean really. And then the rice seemed like a recipe I made out of my rice cooker but I had a better recipe. Really disappointing. There were two different sauces and I only used one. The steak taco didn't have a lot of flavor but the shrimp one was decent.
I think this restaurant needs to focus on a theme. Make some stellar, bomb food and then we can overlook the haphazard atmosphere. But I would still tighten up the vibe a bit. I'm so confused as my eyes scan the room.
Unsure if I'll return but atleast I gave a new local biz a try. Maybe for...

The sauce on the enchiladas wasn't to our taste and the chips/guacamole needed a bit more seasoning. (Or salt/pepper shakers at the table)
I don't mind the fact that the rice and beans need to be ordered separately, but the a la carte prices are a tad high for the small portions you receive.
The service was great and the food came out very quickly! We will...
