Bubble Island — Restaurant in Lacey

My sister and I have been here twice, thinking that perhaps our disappointing experience here the first time was a fluke, and wanting to give the benefit of the doubt. However, both of our visits have been very ...underwhelming. The facility was clean and the service was not bad, however, the drinks we received were low quality.

First visit I ordered a chai smooth tea with boba. The Chai was watery and bland compared to similar teas I have had from other bubble tea stores. On my second visit I ordered a cotton candy milkshake with boba. I was very excited about this as I love cotton candy flavor, but the taste was so faint I felt I wasted the whole drink simply taking sip after sip and straining to taste any flavor at all aside from milk and water-- despite being able to taste my sister's orange creme just fine (though she rated it as "not good compared to the orange creme at the mall").

Additionally, there were several rather large chunks of under-blended ice in my drink. This made the drink... not very enjoyable to consume, what with having to pick out so much ice, and probably contributed to the watered-down taste.

My experiences at this store have left much to be desired and I doubt I will visit Bubble...

We drove to the mall because my daughter wanted a drink from here but they were closed. I had her google to see if there was one close to our house and surprisingly there was. The store was decorated very nice and the woman who worked there was so friendly and fast with my daughters order. The store had a very calm and welcoming vibe to it which I really wasn’t expecting from the outside of the plain building. This is hands down the best boba place in the Olympia Lacey Tumwater area. My partner and I are avid boba hunters, we've tried every single place, and we always come back to bubble Island because they have the most fresh fruit flavors and their boba is always delicious. You get the most bang for your buck here because the large drink is pretty Giant and it's 6 bucks. It's a family-owned place with friendly service always, and sometimes there's the bonus of a really cute kid behind the counter...
