Finally got a chance to stop in @ Freddy's and give them a try and must say I was a little disappointed. I think people need to read the name: Freddy's frozen custard and steak burgers so that implies there custard gets first billing and is the star and it shows. The wait time was horrendous; 28 minutes for 2 burgers and fries. The food was served hot so I'll give them that but it just wasn't for me. I prefer the big juicy burgers that get messy and drip down your arm while eating but I did enjoy the shoestring fries it's just they get cold very quickly. But what killed it for me was 1) the wait time; 28 minutes then they put your custard on hold so when we told them we were ready it was another 15 minute wait;spent a total of an hour and 15 minutes for lunch and 2) the managers just don't care; they walked around lost not helping the crew or even walking around checking on guests (but did fuss at employees in front of guests). The custard was excellent and we did enjoy that but I honestly...
Read moreFor being in Lafayette as long as it's been, it's still doing great. After years of battling for space in this restaurant-packed city, I'm actually quite surprised at how much quality has been preserved. I've been here a few times, ranging over several years, and I'll say it's been quite consistent. The service is surprisingly good for a fast food joint, and the burgers i would rate 4/5, definitely something different than your average McDonald's. I'm sure the custard is great, but I'm lactose intolerant, so I can't speak for it, unfortunately. But the onions rings and fries? To die for. The onion rings have such a beautiful and delicate batter and the matchstick fries are what I've always wanted other fries to be. They also have a delicious "fry sauce" that's almost like a crawfish dip and should not be skipped. 9/10, one of the best fast food...
Read moreThis place is new and I’ve driven by it a few times and never stopped so I decided to give it a go. Let me tell you STAY AWAY! First off the managers running the place are nothing but children. After sitting and waiting over 15 mins I finally said something to a male AA manager (didn’t catch his name) and he was the rudest most obnoxious kid I’ve ever spoken to. This is what you hire for management?? WOW! He looked and acted 20 yrs old at best!? Nothing but excuses and condensing tone! I’ve since then posted my experience on FB and every person I know in Lafayette replied stating I should have asked before going because the food is horrible and service is even worse. The place has been busy because it’s the new thing but I foresee it being closed within a couple years tops….. i'll never be back...
