1000% would recommend!
My wife and I are certified coffee snobs. We are the kind of folks who care about the art, technique, and quality around our coffee. When we heard the founder of Star City was back in town launching a new shop, I knew we had to try it. And let me say, we were not disappointed!
The coffee is on another level. It’s clear that Wanderlust cares about its quality, consistency, and flavor. It’s one of the few places in town I never leave disappointed; I always get the fix I came for. I really appreciate is that the coffee is roasted in-house; like — you can watch and smell it being roasted if you come in at the right time. The other big thing I appreciate is the owner’s commitment to consistency in how the drinks are made. I once was chatting with him in the entryway; he heard something off with how a new employee was steaming milk. Right away he excused himself and took a moment to offer guidance; it was important for him to ensure his customer got what they came for!
The atmosphere/environment is exactly what you’d want in a local coffee shop. The place is filled with eclectic and unique art, furniture pieces, and lighting; it’s all very North Pacific artsy. The music is always great too. I regularly discover new music artist during my visits. The regulars there also contribute to a warm and friendly environment. Like — if you’re new in town and need friends, I’d highly recommend visiting a few times; you’re bound to find a new life long friend!
The staff are incredible. As a work from home employee, I don’t see a lot of people throughout my days. The Wanderlust staff have kind of filled the co-worker/water station chat void in my life lol. They are all really great folks who seem to take genuine interest in your life when given the opportunity. They always seem to remember my name, ask about my family, and other more random things.
If you haven’t, you should stop by! Tell them...
Read moreWanderlust Coffee Roasters in downtown Lafayette offers a vibrant and inviting atmosphere, perfect for both productivity and relaxation. The café features two distinct areas: one bustling with lively tunes and the aroma of freshly brewed coffee, and another more serene space adorned with books and plants, ideal for focused work or quiet reflection.
During my visit, I met a friend to work on various tasks. Despite the music being a bit loud at times, we managed to stay productive and even enjoyed some light conversation. The staff were friendly and accommodating, making our experience enjoyable. They were also very accommodating to my service dog, with no access issues, and even provided water for her upon request. The owner is super sweet and a great conversationalist, making the experience even more enjoyable.
The café's design reflects a blend of urban energy and cozy charm, with a mural by local artist Zach Medler adding a unique touch. It's evident that a lot of thought and care has gone into creating a space that caters to both the coffee enthusiast and those seeking a comfortable place to work or unwind.
The coffee shop side of the space doesn’t have many outlets, as it’s intended for more chatter, but the lively community atmosphere and sounds from behind the counter create the perfect focus environment.
Also, I can't forget to mention the colorful glass cups they use! The colored glass bumps feel delightfully pebbly, and I absolutely love them. They're a charming and unique touch that adds to the overall experience.
Whether you're looking for a place to get things done or simply enjoy a well-crafted cup of coffee, Wanderlust Coffee Roasters is a standout choice...

I was scheduled for an interview here at 4:30 PM on Sunday, March 23rd, 2025. I walked into the establishment met with surprise from two employees, as Wanderlust was closed and it was going to be an after-hours interview. I said that I was here for an interview with Walt, and they stated that he was not here and that they both knew nothing of my interview. The girl employee said, "He did not mention anything to us." I had been emailing with Walt Cornelius almost every day in the week prior to get this interview set up. My boyfriend posted a review yesterday in response to the way I was treated by Walt and Wanderlust, being stood up for my interview with no explanation or further communication. In response to my boyfriend's review, Wanderlust denies ever having "set up an interview with anyone in months," as commented under my boyfriend's initial review. This is very disappointing not only for me, who was very excited to interview and get a chance to work at this once awesome coffee shop, but also to locals who want to visit coffee shops in the Lafayette area. Do not come here. You will be disregarded. Your time is...
