This is a great family-owned local cafe on La Fiesta Square, only a few yards from that other Lafayette staple, Chow. They have an outstanding selection of teas (black, green, herbal, decaffeinated) -- including teas most people have never heard of (e.g., Keemun tea), excellent espresso drinks, pastries, bagels, etc. What makes it special (besides the tea/espresso/etc.) is the family who run the place, the rotating art exhibits, and the local feel. Papillon attracts people of all ages from young mothers with babies to retirees (and everyone in between). They brought the order very quickly which was nice. The pastries were pretty good. The vanilla latte was decent (kind of bitter). The mocha frappe, on the other hand, was watery, burnt, and it had an awful aftertaste! I could hardly take a sip. It also didn't have whipped cream as was advertised. We told the barista about the drink and asked if we could change the order or if she could remake the drink but she refused to do either. We ended up leaving with that same disgusting drink in our hands....
