The restaurant, service and food were excellent. I was from out of town and missed eating at my local Saltgrass Steakhouse on the regular in Baton Rouge due to a restaurant manager in 2022 that contributed to 3 consecutive poor customer service visits in a row to which my last visit my guest and I, literally got up and left before ordering. That was in November 2022. Since then, while traveling I've been able to dine at the Metairie, Covington, some out of state and in March this location. All the visits were on point with what Saltgrass always exhibited since our first visit in Houston, Texas before we had any Saltgrass Steakhouse restaurants in Louisiana. Today I went to lunch and was greeted by my server, Mr. Bryan with kindness and a smile thus was seated immediately. He proceeded to take my order and when asked, he made my late lunch perfect by having my tortilla soup that I love, that the Baton Rouge location informed me that they no longer served all of my 2022 visits and shortly before. Shortly thereafter, the duty manager Ms. Peyton, walked up to my table as I was literally thinking about my poor experiences in Baton Rouge. Her contacting me was normal as a Landry member, but it was nice as always, as prior to 2022 I frequented my local location almost weekly alone or with coworkers to the point I knew the duty mangers' names and they knew mine. Ms. Peyton was nice and accommodating representing her restaurant very professionally. This is what I had grown accustomed too from Saltgrass management and because of my immediate thought I began to tell her about my negative experiences from my home location to which I missed my weekly visits. Ms. Peyton was very empathetic as she listened and explained what I already knew, that was not normal. I highly recommend this location and want to send my sincere appreciation to my server, Mr. Bryan and manager, Ms. Peyton for their professionalism and commitment. Thank you very much for a pleasant dining experience.

Read moreIâm giving 5 stars for the amazing service my party and I received. The host Sherri and our waitress Tabitha saved the day. I had reserved a table for my husbandâs birthday for 8 people. To my surprise my party grew to 13 people. The hostess kindly explained we would have to wait a bit because our number had increased. Nonetheless Sherri explained we would be taken care of. We were seated and I noticed there werenât enough chairs for the Man of the hourâs birthday dinner. I spoke with Mike the manager and explained 5 people did not rsvp. I apologized and admitted my fault. He refused to seat the additional people, and said âIâm sorry your additional guest will have to wait an extra 20-30min and they may not be seated with you. Trying not to cry, I said okay. My husband the birthday guy had arrived. I told him to sit down, and his brother and I stood up for 20 min next to the table in the middle of the restaurant. I was humiliated. My husband is a Pastor and we had members there. I tried to keep a smile on my face. I could see Tabitha and Sherri were uncomfortable with the situation. I could see them explaining options to the MANAGER!!! He refused all of them. Itâs as though he was hell bent on making a point not to assist us. Also there were other tables all over. Finally, despite what he said Sherri and Tabitha began getting additional chairs and another table. The teamwork of the staff was incredible. Why this wasnât coming from the manager, I have no clue. Our party was finally seated, we were crammed, but we made it work. Sherri and Tabitha kept smiles on their faces throughout the whole ordeal. I canât thank them enough. The manager never checked on us again. He avoided us the whole time. I have never experienced this from Saltgrass or any restaurant. The good part is the food was amazing as always. The staff was incredible. They showed kindness and Empathy. Thank...
Read moreIâve went here for my birthday for about 3 yrs in a row.. now coming up on my birthday again, I remembered how bad my last experience was. I will not be going back. I ordered their version of an Old Fashion, their well advertised specialty drink. Got it. Looked nothing like advertised, and tasted just as worst. They made 2 more attempts until To her it right. Until I told my waitress it was made wrong. She asked how. I told her it was missing ingredients, she asked, like what? I told her the cherries were gone, no orange peel and itâs in The wrong glass with the wrong ice.. She came back with the cherries in a separate glass. And I was disgusted. She asked, whatâs wrong now? At this point I just wanted to leave. The manager came talk to us, with a third drink that was still made wrong, apologizing, saying that their bartender was new and didnât know how to make the drink that THEY had hyped up. He explained how the drink was supposed to be made and where they lacked. As if I didnât know already. But had nothing to say anymore. Ruined my birthday dinner. And my experience with one of my favorite places to eat and drink.
My point is. I ordered a drink that THEY advertised and it seemed like no one I encountered there knew how to make it. My waitress implied that I was a brat that wanted a drink fixed my way and in the end, brought me my own ingredients to fix it myself, like I went to school for mixology!
The real sad part is, i want to go back. I understand that one bad experience shouldnât really keep me from going back.. but here I am almost a year later, thinking about where Iâd like to go eat for this years birthday, and all I can think of is this night and...
