Steak 'n Shake — Restaurant in Lafayette

Put in a RALLYS this steaknshake is horrible.

The girl working the mic I believe her name is kelsea was extremely rude. She was annoyed the entire time I was trying to order. Using phrases like "I just said that " when I asked if she put no cheese. When I asked to speak with the manager the girl tried to intimidate me by getting more rude and moving closer to the window asking me why I wanna speak to the manager. When the manager came she did not excuse the girl with the attitude she continued to let her stand there and laugh and make sarcastic comments while I was trying to explain to the manager what had just happened she also informed me that she feels that manager does not care how she treats customers because she stated my manager knows she heard all of it and proceeded to laugh. Management just stood there whispering she was sorry but not excusing the out of control employee. This manager has no control over her team they have zero respect for her because she doesn't respect herself as a manager. I've heard alot of things from employees over the years about this manager I believe her name is Stephanie. She picks who she wants to be nice to and who she is rude to and I guess this employee must be on her cool side.

Also health hazard no hair nets were worn and the girl I had long blond wig with hair everywhere all down her back and infront of her shoulders it wasn't kept in bun or net. Completely unsanitary.

This location just needs to close down for good yall have kept the same bad management for years with tons of Complaints. I hope this entire store goes under I'm sick of the unprofessionalism. I'd love to actually go to a fast food place and the people not act like they hate their job like it's my fault...

Original 2018 review: Every time I go here and use the drive through, something is wrong. I've been overcharged, received the wrong items, and waiting way too long, but my last experience was by far the worst. I was ordering for 3 people. 3 sandwiches, 2 shakes, and a fountain drink. The employee repeated my order back to me correctly. After waiting forever, I got a bag of food and my drinks. I checked the bag and was missing one sandwich and fries. I went in and explained what happened. They gave me a bag and apologized. (the kitchen seemed to be in pure chaos by the way) When I got back, I gave my friends their food and we noticed that all the burgers were plain, there was no cheese (even though I was charged for it), and the bag that they gave me had only a sandwich, no fries. The shakes were also the wrong flavor. I have never had any major problems when dining in, but the drive though here is a mess.

7/13/22 Update: How is this place still in business?

I went to get only two milkshakes for a coworker and myself after staying away from this place for years. Pull up to order... nothing. Pull around to see the lights are off inside the building, but a paper taped to the door states clearly that the drive through it still open. Pull up to order again... nothing. I notice an employee outside and I ask "Hey are you open?" to which he replies, "Yeah, pull around." Pull up to order a final time... nothing "hello?.... hello?.... hello??' Still nothing. I left. This place is the worst and I will never come back even if my family's life...

I’ve been coming here for years...employee turnover is bad but they learn quick and move on but the food never changes...it’s delicious!!! If you ‘like’ cheeseburgers then will ‘Love’ them here....If you decide to go thru the drive thru only then you not be happy with wait time.....if you go inside and get your order to go..you can watch the cook fix your food from start to finish!! Where else can you watch your food going from a raw uncooked very cold but not frozen....hockey puck of ground beef turned into the cheeseburger that you’ve dreamed of...go inside and watch....they are not fast food that’s cooked before you show up to place an order....frozen frisbees made in a assembly line is not what you’ll get here. If you want your food ready for you in the 2min it takes to pay and pull forward to the 2nd window then it’s not for you!! If you want a quality burger that you might have to wait on because it does not exist in anyway shape or form until You ask for it...at a price that might make you feel guilty for the price you are being charged and the quality of food you get in return...go to Steak n Shake on Sagamore Prkwy and St Rd 26 .....go inside and watch a masterpiece of taste and design being born before your eyes...you won’t be upset about your wait time....you’ll understand....when you think about the cheap price for your quality meal...relieve your guilt and tip the cook a couple $$ for his/her dedication to the best...
