Service was not bad, but when we walked in the restaurant was empty. That was my sign to leave. Unfortunately I stayed because other restaurants were full. Started off with a cocktail from their cocktail. List of only sweet cocktails. Got the green apple martini which was very underwhelming. My wife got a Caesar salad that tasted incredibly fishy. She couldn’t eat it so she passed it to me and although I like anchovies, I couldn’t eat it either. My wife ordered cacio e pepe and the serving size was tiny. I would be OK with that. If it at least tasted good, but for such a simple dish with potent ingredients, there was a very little flavor. Personally, I just got a bowl of soup and it was very sweet. Really didn’t enjoy the food or drinks. honestly the one star that the restaurant gets is for the atmosphere because it’s OK and like I said I didn’t receive bad service my wife and I decided this was probably the most disappointing meal of 2022 once you factor in the fact that it cost $100. I would’ve found it acceptable for a quarter...
Read moreVery underwhelming.
For starters we waited 30 minutes for drinks, another 30 for bread and for our order to be take. Wife’s cocktail was tiny and not good for $14. I ordered the lump crab and avocado, wife had a ceaser salad as appetizers. My crab was a small golf ball sized lump of cold flavorless crab, with a sliced avocado covering it. Expected much more for $20. My wife’s salad was decent. Our entrees came out and were very good. I had the butter poached lobster and it was incredibly tender, sides were very well seasoned and cooked right just cold by time they made it. My wife’s filet was great, as were the sides… COLD sides though. All were good, just cold.
All in all I think they’re trying too hard to be fancy. It’s a nice place, and I like the small simple menu but it just wasn’t worth the $180 I spent on dinner. Won’t be back.
Extra points for the delicious cold Michelobs I guess. Waited so long I had time to drink 6 and every one was as tasty as...
Read moreI have to agree with @Peace. The experience was not welcoming at all. We entered into an empty restaurant and was basically stopped at the door. Instead of being asked if we had a reservation, it was “Can I help you with something?” We were advised that the restaurant was full. Instead of offering us to be seated at the bar, we had to ask if there was space at bar which only had one person sitting there-the bar sat about 5-6 people and there were only 3 of us. There was still hesitation even about us sitting at the bar. We sat at the bar anyway, asked about the bone marrow dish that was shown as available, but wasn’t and even the bar tender was snarky with the response to the dish being unavailable. At that point we just got up and left. Whether racism (which it strongly felt like) or just bad customer service, this is...
