Shirley's Bagels — Restaurant in Laguna Beach

First time here and I love it! If you like bagels you must try them here! Probably my new favorite spot. Specially because of the location. You can grab your bagles to go and find a spot on the beach or with a view of the beach and eat them while you enjoy the sound of the waves and the tranquility of the ocean. (Grab a book and read after, while you are out there 😉) No restroom inside the restaurant and no indoor seating available right now but there are three tables outside and a bench close by to eat there if you like. (Again just take it to go and have it by the beach) parking was available but I can see it being tough to find one during lunch time so beat the rush. Many bagels to choose from but of course I went with the jalapeño cheese. We ordered the California bagel, it gives you a choice of meat and .....you guessed it, I picked bacon. We asked to add Chipotle and it was delicious 😋 staff was friendly and helpful. Great service. I recently heard about Shirley‘s bagels with good recommendations for the bagels themselves. Being an ex New Yorker, I decided to try them out because of course the best bagels are from New York. I’m afraid I have nothing but complaints. The parking is difficult. There was a long line. I ordered my bagel sandwich toasted, and an iced coffee. We went to find a table. There was one unoccupied table. The table and the chair were dirty and wet. I asked to have it cleaned. Someone quickly came over and cleaned the table of food, but left it wet. I wiped the bench off myself, but she came back to wipe the table. my name was called and I went to pick up my food. I asked about the drink and I was told it would be ready shortly. I sat down and started to eat. The bagel was not toasted as I had requested. I like my bagels toasted so the sandwich was not as good as I would like. I still didn’t have my drink. Two stars based on the food not the attitude or customer service.Went Sunday morning and Sam was working behind the counter. He's the manager which is a sad testament on its own. I am a 100 percent disabled combat veteran. One of my many issues is a loss of hearing.Sam is behind plexiglass with a mask on in a very noisy environment. I could not hear him and politely ask several times to repeat himself.this annoyed him and he became dismissive. I asked for two quarters for the meter to avoid a ticket saying to put on my bill but was told it's not allowed. Ok I went to the bank and got money.when I picked up my order I asked for cream to take with for my coffee. He pointed to the metal containers and said their it is we have none to take with .Huh?
