Well, hel-lo unfamiliar yet warmly welcomed new friend. We have not met before. But after a single visit here, destiny--and my savagely scraped bank account--ensures we will meet time and time again.
$9.99 for an Açaí bowl (or any fancy fruit ensemble) is a rarity, especially in my former Los Angeles life. The fact that you can add endless mix-ins and toppings with no additional charge is mind blowing. The small size is definitely sufficient for satiation.
I've heard that Orange County isn't as foodie friendly as LA, but Earth Bowl begs to differ.
This Dorothy ain't in Kansas anymore. And maybe with enough of these treats in lieu of other take-out meals, I'll finally be able to afford those Ruby slippers.
Thus far, I've only explored the Açaí/Blue Majik-based bowls. I actually had to Google "Blue Majik" since I didn't know what it was (extra exciting), and was delighted to discover that it supports healthy joints, in addition to a crapton of other random hippie health benefits worth a happy dance.
Accessorize with berries of your choice (current options: strawberries, blackberries, blueberries), toss in overnight oats, chia and hemp seeds, sunflower butter, and even BEE POLLEN (easily an extra $10 in LA) among other goodies, and you're in for a mouthgasm that's equally as indulgent for your taste buds as it is for your internal organs.
My only suggestion for improving upon perfection: provide (and explicitly label) organic options, even if they cost extra.
I'm excited to experiment with other bases, like pitaya--which is similar to dragonfruit, according to online research.
Add as much as you want without your wallet whining. Top on 'dem toppings--there's no stopping--and just dream it, dreamer.
The only limit is your...
Read moreAsked if they had anything gluten free. There were 3 workers standing around doing nothing, and of course not one of them knew the answer. One tried to make a guess, which is even worse than not knowing because if you get sick from ingesting gluten, you don't want to risk it on someone's guess. Being a "healthy food" place, its such a shame the owner doesn't get the restaurant/chain trained and certified by a celiac associated group. Celiacs use the Find Me Gluten Free app to find restaurants that can accommodate. This place misses out on a ton of business because I regularly go to a club nearby and would love to grab lunch after, 2-3x a week, and my options are limited,so celiacs like ne often become regulars at the same handful of places that accommodate us and having a good review on the FMGF app directs other celiacs visiting the area to the places other celiacs find to be a good experience without getting sick. Celiac has no cure,so you can't just not eat out for the next 80 years of life. Luckily, my group was able to dine atEl Pollo Loco and the salad is only 350 calories and lots of other options are on the celiac list that pops up when you Google gluten free options at...
Read moreThe açaí bowls are amazing and always good quality. The problem I have is with customer service.
It feels like a fast quick transaction EVERYTIME I go to this location. I was there today 4/19 at 3pm and the girl behind the counter was in a hurry to get me out of there, and when I didn’t tip her, she started talking about how bad of a tipper I was with her coworker, and not only about me but about other customers too. I get that you work for tips but if you don’t give a good costumer service I won’t tip you, is not that I’m not a tipper but I only tip when good service is granted. And for you two ladies to be talking bad about other customers while you have customers inside the place that can hear your conversations loud and clear is unacceptable.
Remember we dont owe you a tip unless you give good service, I hope you two read this message. It’s a shame because the acai bowls are amazing, I hope the owner talks to their employees for better...
