We had the worst delivery experience ever. We ordered through their only delivery option, which is doordash. And just a note, we order from doordash weekly so we're used to the service and it's never been bad. Somehow they are not connected to doordash so we could not track our order, see where the delivery was going or review our receipt. When the food was late, we looked first on doordash and there was no tracking of our order there so we had to go to mangia bene's website and on their website it said they had somehow delivered to our old address. when I called them they told me they couldn't confirm which address they were delivering to so my husband drove 45 minutes to go get our $240. After waiting over 70 minutes (we live 10 minutes away)turns out they were just late and someone dropped our food at our house without ringing the bell and it got cold. On top of that we ordered their surf and turf which was $48 and was supposed to be shrimp and 8 oz of steak, which showed up with
three tiny pieces of steak and two shrimp. An extremely disappointing experience with very little customer service to help us figure out what happened to our order. Not...
Read moreThis is a nice local restaurant. It's been around for years.
I prefer to dine on the patio when the weather is warm. The interior of the restaurant is divided in half. One side is family friendly dining. The other half is a popular restaurant bar.
AV doesn't have many true bars so this one is a local hangout. I'm happy to go with friends or alone. There are no creepers. The bartenders are good. They'll even make a weird drink, like a Paper Plane, if they have the ingredients.
The food is good. I don't like their salads. They're weird and dry. I do love their pizzas and pastas. My favorite is the gnocchi. It's a bit oily but still a tasty treat. I'm also a big fan of the lobster ravioli.
The bartenders and waitstaff are friendly and efficient. My glass and bread plate are always full. The pasta is served HOT in heavy pasta bowls. One of the hostesses is snarky, but that's a small blip in otherwise stellar service.
I always feel welcomed and at home when I dine here. Sometimes I come here because I crave the food. Sometimes I come because I enjoy the...
Read moreI went to this place with coworkers for a welcome lunch for a new employee. The busser was rude and short with our table. The waiter was good, but the food was delayed, given that we were a large party that wasn't a big issue. When the food arrived, the presentation was excellent. However, it did not taste as good as it looked. The sauce in the pasta tasted as if it was out of a can, slightly sweet with a tin canney after taste. There was no Italian seasoning or salt in it at all. The salt I can forgive but the seasoning is critical. The chicken parmesan was too soggy and lacked that signature crunch in the right places and seasoning was mossing once more. Portions were more than generous and the deco was great.
My colleges had similar complaints about bland taste and lack of seasoning. Overall I might try it again they just need to improve the seasoning a bit and it will be a home run. Would have been a 4 star if the service was a bit better. The expectation at these...
