I was so surprised because it looked like it was a business about to close at first glance, then my friends told me they are rebuilding and I saw the front and it’s really nice. Then we went into the restaurant dining area the first time I went there and the food is the best I have tasted in a bar that serves food. It actually rivals any restaurant Ive eaten at in this Area. I haven’t tried a steak yet, but Ive had catfish cooked perfect and the flavor is exactly what you want from catfish. Ive had their green chicken chili ,queso, mushrooms , the kids burgers are HUGE and you can get them with different cheeses and styles. I had the French dip, and then the catfish and burger 2 different times so I’m all Ive been 8 times. They are SO friendly and the service is the best. Andrew the bartender( on certain days) is Walter’s son. I don’t like alcohol but I asked if he could make a drink that I might like. He asked me what I wanted and I told him and it is AWSOME. We named it " Cherry Smash” and it has bourbon but the grenadine , cherries, coke etc. make it taste so good and there’s a smooth bourbon taste. Walter’s has a lot of regular locals. It’s a neighborhood tavern ( in the bar area there is smoking) The dining area is nice (although temporarily located till the inside is finished) with linen/ cotton napkins and tablecloths. The food is prepared in a food truck since the kitchen is not quite finished but it is very clean and served as if cooked in a Commercial Gourmet Kitchen. Whenever I get asked to go out, and to suggest a place I always suggest Walter’s. The food and drink prices are reasonable considering prices I have seen elsewhere and everything Ive said about the food and service is outstanding so they could be charging considerably more and not lose any clientele. I’ve never given a review this good before but the folks at Walter’s are what makes it a special place so I’ll give them a little extra effort just...
Read moreI'll first say the waitress was very nice and understanding and the only reason why I'm placing 1 star on this review. My wife and I started with chips and queso, best example I could think of was ball park nacho cheese is what we were served.
My wife had the 20 oz ribeye, she did ask for rare, but came back blue rare at best. There were 3 spots the size of my thumb that were still pink looked like a flame didn't even touch it. It was sent back and the person in charge of the grill basically Char-Broil one side and didn't even cook the other side. After it was placed back Infront of my wife she was only able to salvage maybe 8 pieces that were edible also it seemed to have the lack the taste of the simple salt and pepper.
I myself got the Parmesan sandwich and the chicken was over cooked on the crust, dry and tasteless.
We enjoyed the French fries, Caesar salad and mash potatoes.
I not once in my life of dinning out have I ever sent something back to be re-cooked or ask for a non payment for a plate and it all happened in one evening with trying to take my wife out to enjoy a nice dinner. I don't know if it was because it was a Sunday and not a Friday or Saturday or any other day, but our visit was unpleasant on the food side of things. I know this may upset some people in our community, I don't know maybe I'm...
Read moreHad lunch yesterday with a friend. I have been wanting a seafood platter for months ,I knew when I entered the door what i is going to order. my friend suggested the French onion soup, OMG ! it was absolutely delicious .I could have made a whole meal out of it. My friend got a prime rib sandwich , she raved about how wonderful it was. It must have been scrumptious because she didn't even offer me a bite !!! The seafood platter was one of the best I've ever had. there was enough food for two.. The hush puppies were a pleasant surprise ,the fried clams !!!! what a wonderful treat. Coming from New England you don't find fried clams very often in this area , most times they are overcooked. Huge shrimp and the haddock was out of his world ,outstanding experience. The wait staff what's beyond compare .I will be back ,that's for sure .My dream is they put a clam roll on the menu for the summer. My only complaint was the cocktail sauce :it was so horseradishy. MY Poor tongue didn't like the experience ,however some people would love to have that heat . I would just beware before I take that first dip. I can only give five stars on this review ,what I really like to give is a 10 ....
