I'm really bummed out. While on a diet, I learned from a family member that this place changed owners and I was looking forward to trying the place again in hopes the food was the same because for some reason this was the only Mexican restaurant in town that could make decent enchiladas. Well, after almost a year I finally came here and the food was terrible. I don't know what they did to their enchiladas, but like every other Mexican restaurant, the sauce is now super watery and has no flavor and the most bizarre thing of all, they're now using white rice instead of fried...at a Mexican restaurant. Who does that? I also decided to try their tacos, the beef and chicken are both really low quality and all fat, my tacos were straight up drenched in oil. But to be fair their chicken was always super dry and that's why I always got cheese and no meat in my enchilada's. I felt worse for my dad who couldn't even finish his burrito which I ended up having to finish for him.
To add insult to injury, the seating like it always has been is still awful, way too cramped, they need to space the seats further from the tables. No, I'm not overweight or even chubby and I still felt claustrophobic, idk how I stayed sane in these seats when I was still overweight. Our server wasn't tentative at all and for some reason she assumed I wanted green sauce on my enchiladas because my dad got it. For some ungodly reason, they got rid of their fountain drinks and now hand you a can of soda.
Finally, our bill was absolutely insane, but before we left, I held out some hope, and ordered an enchilada with red sauce praying it was the same as I used to get. The server was kind enough to give me 3 instead of the 1 I ordered (was only charged for 1 though, so I appreciate the gesture)...the red sauce was even worse than the green sauce which I don't even like. Needless to say, this place went from being my favorite Mexican restaurant in town to being the worst.
I'm just glad that I'm able to make really good enchilada's myself. Granted, I've always been able to make better enchilada's than this place even when their enchilada's were decent, it was just nice getting beans and rice with it and trying someone else's take on the same dish. RIP La Cabana Mexican Grill, I'll miss you, I'm just glad they changed the name of the place so people know this terrible restaurant...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe are not coming back here again! Itās never been like this. Itās overpriced and understaffed! Who ever took it over has wrecked it. I was charged for a full price combination plate of fish tacos with rice and beans and I never got my sides. I asked the waitress a few times and she just kept saying she would bring them and never did. When I disputed it the waitress says the cook said itās $3 more for rice and beans but thatās not what the menu says! Didnāt care to bring chips and salsa until multiple tables asked. Just awful experience and incredibly bummed since this used to be our favorite family spot for authentic food. never...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place has been our Favorite Mexican Mariscos Restaurant since we found it a little over a year ago!
The food, service, and atmosphere are great and we highly recommend it! One of the things that stands out is the consistency of taste. Does not matter who is working the kitchen at any given time, the flavors are always amazing!
Looking forward to...
