Ono Hawaiian BBQ — Restaurant in Lake Elsinore

Ono hawaiian bbq is so SO good. The food is always super filling, the portions are huge, especially with the family meal. Add ons aren't terrible either, and even if the spam musubi is around 6 bucks for 2 pieces, its well worth it. Theyre thick spam slices, with a lot of rice and sauce packed into really good seaweed wrap. The mac salad is super creamy, but not overwhelmingly so. It pairs good with the rice too! I don't know how to explain it but the rice itself is so good. They must add something because it's flavorful on its own. The bbq beef can be a little tough in some places,but its still got a nice taste to it. The shrimp and the chicken katsu breading was really crispy, but not so crispy it hurt your mouth to chew, haha. Fantastic place. And our server was kind too, super patient while we asked for clarification on things. Can't remember their name at the moment, but they had dyed pink(?) Hair and cool hat pins. Really...

The food. So so so bomb. It is definitely priced fairly for the type of meats, quality of veggies, and freshness of the entire meal.

But.

This specific location was really... DIRTY. We were there for about 45 minutes and didnt see 1 person come out to clean. •The door had smudges all over the glass and an extreme amount of kick marks. •There was food all over the floors. And I mean aaaaaall over the floors. •even if you wanted to clean up after yourself, you couldn't because there weren't any napkins available. You got 1 napkin per meal ordered. •sanitizer station was out.

it was also way too loud. Since everything is wood and metal, the place echoed a lot. You have the noise from the cooks cooking in the kitchen, the loud vent, people placing orders, people talking as they eat, plus the sound of the music.

I was very excited to happen upon this place yesterday. The menu that's very intriguing. We went in to order. I am a person who only eats white meat chicken and always asks before ordering whether or not the chicken they are serving in particular dishes is made with white meat The .cashier assured me that in fact all the dishes are made with white meat. We picked up our food to go only to drive to lake Elsinore to sit and eat it. When I opened the box I was astonished to see that the chicken in fact was all dark meat. I found it to be very rubbery and totally inedible. I will not be returning to your restaurant. Apparently your cashiers are ill-trained. And seemingly don't even know what you are serving. What a waste...
