I’ve been a long time customer of ca fish grill and I was shocked and upset that the terrible service I received today . I placed an order for pick up 3 weeks ago. When my husband got home, one plate was missing. We lived 20 min away and it was too far to drive back. I called the store and the lady went and checked. She found the missing plate and came back apologizing. Since we couldn’t drive back , she took down my name and said that the next time I place a phone order, to just call them after placing the order and remind them and they will include it in with the new order . That’s exactly what I did today . But when I called they said they have no record of it so they could not do anything about it . Seriously???!!! My mistake was I didn’t get the name of the lady who I spoke to . But that’s beside the point .... I shouldn’t have to !!! I was so furious... I spoke to the assistant manager who said her name is ERICA. She made it sound like I was trying to call for a free plate which only cost a few bucks !!! Is she kidding !!!?? I ordered a family meal every few weeks ...why would I decide to call now to score a free meal ??? I told her never mind ... I’m not upset about them missing orders or making mistake !!! It happens . But I’m upset at the way she handled the situation and made me look like a liar . I was a manager at a retail store for 10 years , and if I was her , I would apologize for inconveniencing the customer and replace the meal . It’s not worth losing a loyal customer over something so trivial . Erica needs to relearn her customer service skills!!!! I’m done with this place....not going back !!! Really, I genuinely wondered if the restaurant had run out and purchased a temporary replacement for the night. Then AGAIN a disappointing visit. Just to make sure, a month later it was the same gross fish & chips.
The new offering is an out-of-the-box, frozen product that is slimy, slippery, and unpleasantly barely a crispy crunch. Now to my surprise and dismay, confirming that the low-quality fish & chips are now the standard. (boo-hoo)
Honestly, California Fish Grill has a great customer base, but that is no excuse to downgrade what they are serving. I am sure it's just business, and maybe they can't get the same fish contract. BUT, they know that THEY chose a lesser product.
While California Fish Grill has a loyal customer base, this is no excuse to serve a noticeably inferior product. I understand this might be a business decision related to a new contract or cost-cutting. However, management knew they were choosing a lesser-quality product.

For who knows what reason they decided to close this restaurant. Today I first time came to El Toro location and was very disappointed. The coupon they send was not accepted because it is have to be printed. But it is nothing about it on the coupon. The general manager was not there anybody now why and the guy name Luis was absolutely no help. Staying with this smile which already gave you expression he will not give a damn about all what happens Next they bring my order for take out on the plates it should be for inside. To fix mistake they just simply put all food in boxes and of course when i came home everything was cold.
