We went there during the opening week. The food was fantastic. One of the better meals we have had in lake oswego. Things were still being worked out as far as the service and plating. Nothing unexpected for a new restaurant. I know given a few weeks they will have all the kinks worked out. The owner is super nice and clearly cares about the little details. The atmosphere and decor is great. The restaurant would make a great date night or a lovely evening for a small group. The prices are very reasonable, given the quality of the food. We tried two different steaks and the salmon. All were very excellent. We also got the mashed potatoes as a side to share. We had the chocolate dessert cake which fed four of us easily. I didn’t get a picture of that one. I wish I had. Cocktails were also excellent. Can’t wait to get back.

We had an incredible experience at Jewel Box Steak in Lake Oswego. From start to finish, everything was excellent. Each of us ordered steaks, and every one of them was cooked to absolute perfection—juicy, flavorful, and exactly how we asked. The ambiance really set the tone for the evening—warm, inviting, and elevated without being stuffy. It’s the kind of place where you can enjoy a special night out while still feeling comfortable and welcomed. Service was attentive without being overbearing, and the overall atmosphere made the meal even more memorable. If you’re looking for a place in Lake Oswego that delivers both outstanding food and an amazing dining experience, Jewel Box Steak should be at the top of your list.

10/10 Experience! The food and cocktails were phenomenal. The service was excellent - we had two very attentive servers and the owner even stopped by to say hi. Love the decor - it has this upscale, dark, moody aesthetic that feels very intimate and cozy. We had the wedge salad with the Pisco Lima and old fashion cocktails to kick off the meal. Followed by the mashed potatoes, seared carrots, and the 24oz cowboy rib eye with a Chianti red wine. Ended the night with a decaf americano and the layered chocolate cake, which was impossible to finish due to its decadence and size. Well worth the wait for a reservation. We will be going back to try more of the menu. Great for date nights and impressing out of town guests!

I honestly don’t even know where to begin—our experience at Jewel Box Steak was absolutely incredible! Part of me hesitated to write this review because I selfishly want to keep this hidden gem all to ourselves… but they deserve all the success in the world, so here we go!

My husband made reservations for our 21st wedding anniversary, and we were both really excited to try this new spot in Lake Oswego. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed and immediately seated. The vibe was inviting, elegant, and full of thoughtful touches.

Our server, Jeremy, was fantastic. He introduced us to the “make your own martini” option, which was such a fun and creative experience! We each got our own adorable martini glasses, little droppers of olive juice, and tiny glasses with lemon twists and olives—so we could mix it just the way we like. And the cherry on top? Lisa, the owner, personally came over to pour the drinks for us. She is absolutely lovely and has curated such a beautiful and welcoming space. She even brought us a celebratory glass of champagne to toast our anniversary—such a thoughtful touch!

We started with the shishito peppers, then shared the Caesar salad, carrots, and twice-mashed potatoes. For our mains, my husband had the ribeye with compound marrow butter, and I had the filet with the same butter—both were perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. Jeremy also brought out a loaf of bread that was to die for—crispy on the outside, soft and pillowy on the inside. And those mashed potatoes? I could’ve honestly licked the bowl—they were that good.

This was one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in a long time, and we can’t wait to go back. Jewel Box Steak truly lives up to its...

We were very excited to try Jewel Box, but from the moment of our arrival our experience kept going down hill. The hostess did not communicate with us at all and we ended up standing and waiting for 20 minutes for our reservation. The bartender was nice, but visually understaffed. We had the shrimp and crab dip appetizer, which was fine? Then we ordered two steaks plus the carrots and mashed potatoes for sides. One steak was their dry aged prime grade Kansas strip, and I have never in my life been more let down by a steak, especially at the price they are charging. The Kansas strip was tough and unflavorful. I have received steaks of better quality from Costcos bulk section than this supposed dry aged prime strip. The second steak we received was a 8oz beef tenderloin and I have been told it was dry and unflavorful as well. The mashed potatoes were okay, but they serve you the equivalent of one cup of mashed potatoes when it's supposed to serve two people. The carrots tasted of carrot, but nothing more. There was no nuance or added flavor that was described by the menu.

Overall I would say skip Jewel Box. The best part of the entire meal was the bottle of wine we brought ourselves. There are many places nearby that offer a better meal for a similar or lesser price. Unfortunately the whole meal was just okay, and...

My wife and I decided to come here for dinner as a late anniversary night out. We both love a good steak and this restaurant cooks up quality for sure!

My wife had the American wagyu with mushrooms which comes on the plate already sliced by the chef. I tried a bite myself and it was excellent. I had the prime tenderloin with the addition of the compound marrow butter which is a perfect compliment to this juicy steak!

We ordered sides of asparagus and the twice baked mashed potatoes. Both were top notch in preparation and taste. We sat at the bar and the staff was always attentive and helpful. The bartender was on the spot with our drinks and made them properly. The owner took our order and made sure we were taken care of. Provided us with a bread service as an appetizer. The bread and butter were fresh and warm. Our server was excellent in making sure to answer any questions we had about the menu and to make sure we were enjoying everything. Again the staff is amazing here. They were quite busy and everything seems to run very well.

It may be the best steak meal we have ever had. For sure the best mashed potatoes we have had!

Highly recommend! We will visit again!

Thank...
