⭐ 1 Star We Drove an Hour for This? Should’ve Stayed Home with a Can of Manwich. Today, my husband and I were in the mood for some real Southern barbecue. After hearing all the hype about Famous Dave’s, we decided to make the trip from Fredericksburg to Woodbridge. That's over an hour round trip—because, you know, we like to suffer in style. We spent about $55 on what was supposed to be a BBQ feast: a 4-pork rib and sliced brisket combo, mashed potatoes, sweet tea, a slice of pecan pie, and their “homemade” bread pudding. Spoiler alert: the only thing homemade about this meal was the regret. Let’s break it down: The pork ribs? Dry, salty, and tough. If you’ve ever gnawed on a leather boot, you already know what we were working with. A size 10, to be exact. The bread pudding was a masterclass in how not to reheat dessert—soggy on the outside, frozen in the middle. Yum? The pecan pie came straight from the “plastic-wrapped goods” aisle. Cold, stiff, and sad. I’m 90% sure I saw the same pie at Whole Foods last week. The sweet tea? More like liquid candy. We had to cut it with a full gallon of unsweetened tea at home just to make it drinkable. A dentist’s dream. And then, the grand finale: the sliced brisket sandwich. Oh, it looked promising. Beautiful presentation. We almost clapped. Then we opened it—and surprise! No sliced brisket. Just a pile of charcoal-black burnt ends, straight from the campfire ruins of a national forest. Smoky? Yes. Inedible? Also yes. We made the mistake so you don’t have to. Save your gas. Save your money. Save your tastebuds. Or better yet—just pop open a can of Manwich and call it gourmet.

Everything we ordered tasted amazing! We had the Burnt Ends as an appetizer. The rib tips and brisket with sides of mac & cheese. We would definitely be back! We were driving from New York to South Carolina and stopped here by mistake while looking for a gas station. He kept looking that direction and we saw many people go inside and the parking lot was packed Upon entering the host greeted us and was able to have us seated at a booth within minutes of arriving. The waitress took our drink orders as soon as we sat down. She came back and checked on us multiple times while also giving great recommendations as to what she thought we may like according to what we had told her we had to taste . The young lady that was serving us was so good. She was able to convince us to order more food, even though we knew we were not that 😋 . We took what we had left and ate it on the road later that night. This place is good for groups. There were two groups celebrating special occasions while we were there. Very kid friendly. Outside dining area that may be pet friendly. Our food came out hot and tasty. Tthere are various sauces on the table to try. Each one tasted great with our food. The waitress even gave us packets to take with us so that we could enjoy it with the food we had left over. #TTip: Get there in time for lunch. The prices seem to be very good for all the food you get

I had really bad experience here. Me and my husband came to this bbq place after shopping at Potomac mills. First, this restaurant doesn't have AC on so it's really hot and humid. Second, it took about 10 minutes until the server came and asked what drinks we want. Third, my husband ordered brisket sandwich with mac and cheese and they gave him mac and cheese with corns and jalapeños. We expected basic mac and cheese and they gave us this weird mac and cheese without asking. We only found out after my husband spit out the jalapeños. We asked the server if they have regular mac and cheese and they said there'll be upcharge for that(I still don't know why they charge extra for regular mac and cheese). We said we didn't expect this jalapeños mac and cheese and she said she got it then the asian male manager brought regular mac and cheese. Later, we found they charged for this regular mac and cheese too (recipe attached, the sandwich comes with one side so the jalapeños mac and cheese is already included). It's not like there were a lot of people in the restaurant but every server was very disorganized and took so long to order, get food, and get the bill. Not refilling the drinks came along too. Also, we didn't drink arnold parmer. We had a mountain dew.... we didn't complain about mac and cheese or the drink because at the end we just wanted to leave this place.

My experience at Famous Dave's, a restaurant I once frequented for great times and good food, has taken a drastic turn after a recent incident that left my family reeling from food poisoning. Allow me to provide a stern and honest review of this establishment based on this unfortunate experience.

My family and I have enjoyed meals at Famous Dave's on numerous occasions, always appreciating the delicious food and inviting atmosphere. However, a recent visit to place a to-go family meal turned into a nightmare that I cannot easily forget.

After enjoying our dinner at home, my husband suddenly fell violently ill at 3 am, displaying symptoms of food poisoning that were both alarming and distressing. He was wracked with vomiting and severe diarrhea, symptoms that he rarely experiences due to his typically strong stomach.

It became clear that Famous Dave's was the only place we had obtained food from that day, and my husband had consumed the brisket exclusively. The timing and nature of his symptoms left no doubt that the brisket was the source of his illness.

Despite our efforts to contact the restaurant and discuss the matter, we were met with a disappointing lack of accountability. The store took no responsibility for the incident, refusing to acknowledge any potential wrongdoing on their part.

Furthermore, the response from their liability office was equally disheartening. Instead of addressing our concerns or offering any form of resolution, they promptly absolved themselves of any responsibility, leaving us feeling disregarded and unheard.

It is deeply concerning that Famous Dave's would dismiss such a serious matter without proper investigation or consideration for the well-being of their customers. This negligence not only jeopardizes the health and safety of patrons but also reflects poorly on the integrity of the establishment.

In light of this experience, I feel compelled to warn others about the potential risks associated with dining at Famous Dave's. As a consumer, I believe that accountability and transparency are essential, and it is clear that this restaurant falls short in both regards.

In conclusion, I urge Famous Dave's to take responsibility for their actions and prioritize the health and safety of their customers above all else. Failure to do so not only damages their reputation but also puts lives at risk. Legal action may be necessary to ensure that justice is served in this matter.

Update - Decided I wanted BBQ for lunch today. I work about 15 minutes away, so I ordered online, a little bit before 10am. I get a notification, 15 minutes before I'm supposed to pick up, that something went wrong with my order, but to call the store and they will ensure it is ready when I pick up. I called, as instructed in the email I received, and was told by worker that they couldn't see my order. They told me they were going to see what was going on. I was put on hold for over 10 minutes, before I decided they probably weren't coming back to the phone. I arrived at the restaurant (granted, it was a bit busy, so I will give them that...) when my order was supposed to be ready, but I had to place my order, again, in-person. I explained the situation to the person taking my order, and there was no attempt to rectify the situation. I was told it would be a 10-15 minute wait, which it was, but I was a little bothered that the order was not expedited due to my issues with the online pre-order. The woman with the Monroe piercing was pleasant when giving me my order. Again, this ordering process rubbed me the wrong way. The food was HOT AND DELICIOUS, but the process disappointed me. It seems that, if the order process is difficult, the food is better, but if the order process is easy, the food is not great...

I came tonight for curbside pick up. I was waiting 10 minutes, after texting the requested number, when I decided to go inside. The pick up/to go door was 'no access' so I had to walk around to the front. I went in and the young black gentleman that helped me was friendly, but still doesn't take away from the fact that I had ordered for curbside. I get home, to realize they didn't put any bbq sauce or utensils in with my order. The meats in my two piece combo were okay. The Mac n cheese was nasty. I have eaten here at this location a few times before, and the Mac n cheese is delicious! But tonight it had zero texture, except for the giant CHUNKS of jalapeno. Every previous time I have visited the Mac n cheese was delicious and the jalapenos were minced. Extremely disappointed tonight. I would have given 1 star, if it hadn't been for my previous positive experiences... I'm hoping tonight was just a one-off! I will give it another try some other time and I will...

Made a visit here for 4th of July. I expected the restaurant to be packed. They were busy but IMO manageable. Management should have expected that they’d be busy.

We were seated in the 1/2 price table then decided to move because we weren’t getting ANY service. We never received a kids menu so I got it myself.

I ordered 3 meat lunch special 1 pork, 1 Rib Tips w/ catfish fingers.

Significant Other ordered lunch special 2 meat combo both meat Rib Tips.

Ordered my 1 y/o baked chicken & potato salad. Kids meal.

The food took over 40 mins to come out. A couple sat at our original seat 1/2 price got drinks, food and left before we got our meal.

My significant other meat combo was very small my additional Rib Tips were larger than his 2 meat Rib Tips. We never received our kids meal, a excuse was made that we ordered it after but it was literally 2 mins after and we’d rather of waited for our entire table of food so we weren’t subjected to our baby eating too spicy of food. After we finished we still hadn’t received the babies food. We decided to cancel because there was no idea of when we would receive it. After trying to pay to get out because the experience was SO BAD we had to chase down a random waiter. Finally got to our waiter who ran my card then informed me the system was down that I’d have to wait or pay cash. THANK GOODNESS I HAD CASH!!

I love Famous Dave’s. It’s usually my favorite BBQ spot. This place gave me such a bad experience. I was so frustrated considering I rarely get out for a special dinner. it was such a horrible experience. 🙁

Minor issues: never received butter for corn bread until asked multiple times....then asked manager, no refills on drinks, had to get our...
