I went into the store on Friday, 8/04/2017 to purchase a new bed for my daughter. After picking out the bed, I told Nuwan that I needed the bed on Saturday or I didn't want to buy the bed. I explained to him that I was moving, had a trailer rented, and that I needed a bed on Saturday. He told me that I could just have it delivered on Monday, for an additional $50, I told him No, I wasn't paying for a delivery when I was already paying for a trailer, and that unless the bed was there Saturday, I wasn't buying a bed from him, We went back and forth and I made it very clear that it was Saturday or no sale, Nuwan then responds with "OK, fine, it will be here Saturday", I pay for the bed, and he then tells me I need to call a number on the receipt "to make sure the bed is here"- this was my first inclination that something was wrong. Why wouldn't the bed be there on Saturday Nuwan? Unless you didn't order it or can't make it arrive on Saturday?!?!?!? I call on Saturday, ask if my bed was delivered, the guy seemed confused, I told him that I bought it on Friday, made it very clear that the bed needed to be there Saturday, and that we'd have a problem if it wasn't, we'd need to cancel the order. I'm placed on hold, then Nuwan gets on the phone, he says "hello" I say "Yes" and he responds with "I didn't tell you it was going to be here today, I told you Monday".. Umm.. nope, that's' not how the story goes. He immediately starts to argue with me and gets on the defense, before I can even speak, and says "I didn't say that, that's not what I told you.." as if I made this ish up?!? I knew I wasn't paying for delivery, and that it was going to rain on Monday, and that I needed a bed on Saturday, as he originally agreed. I then told him to never mind, and cancel my sale, that I wasn't going to give my money to a company that lies, he then began to argue more.. I told him no thanks, cancel my order. THHHEEEENNNNN I then get a call today (Monday) from the same asshat (Nuwan) telling me my bed is in. Ok, now this is really getting annoying, you lied to me to get me to buy the bed, you argue with me like I"m your mamma or someone you think it's OK to be rude and talk to any kind of way, and then after I tell you to cancel the sale, you call me again to tell me the bed is in?!?? ARE YOU SERIOUS RIGHT NOW??? I reminded him that he was supposed to have the bed on Saturday and that I wasn't going to be doing business with companies that lie and employee liars. That's when he became rude and aggressive, talking over me, while I was talking, telling me he didn't lie, and that's not what he told me, that I was the liar, and I was making this up. I'm not really sure what advantage I would have over lying about this. My kid now has no bed, and I have to go shopping again for a bed, something I've already done, I've lost time and I'm annoyed over this too. I don't care how much it costs me, I will purchase from anywhere else, I'm not giving my money to an unprofessional, lying, crappy sales person. Since I'm in sales myself and can spot the BS from a mile away, I will pay for a mattress anywhere else. I told him that I'd be contacting his DM to complain, and he responded with "Good Luck!". In case Carl, the DM doesn't return my call, I'd like to just point out here that Nuwan obviously thinks that management is beneath him, and customer service/professional etiquette doesn't apply to him either. I'm sure the bed would have been great, but, I refuse to give them my hard earned...
Read moreI couldn't recommend Mattress Warehouse more, and specifically, our excellent sales associate, Shane.
For background: I took my mother to this location for a long overdue mattress replacement and apparently, her first new mattress purchase. It was especially important that we find the right mattress for her, as she experiences higher levels of chronic pain as she ages. I knew that both the customer service experience would be critical to us finding the right mattress, and that the outcome would be a mattress that provided better support and potentially be the last bed she owned. We prepared for a couple of months to go mattress shopping; and my mom heard good things about this location, in particular. It was a high stakes trip as far as shopping goes.
I'm glad to share that the experience itself and outcome far exceeded my expectations. As soon as we walked in, Shane was kind and attentive. He actively listened to my mom's particular mattress needs, and he was knowledgeable enough about the inventory to immediately narrow down our options. My mom loved the first bed he recommended on the floor. Once we were ready to make the purchase, Shane immediately identified the discounts that were available and found other ways to help us manage costs. Finally, he efficiently setup home delivery for my mom so she didn't have to worry about asking me or another family member for installation support, which gave her peace of mind.
Along with helping us find the right mattress for my mom's unique needs, Shane clearly was a good person who made the shopping experience even fun. He has a great sense of humor and most of all, he was so respectful to my mom. Sometimes, because of her age, without me present, she's not listened to or condescended to. Shane treated my mom like he would his own family member, which I didn't take for granted. He continued to be helpful when we ran into a minor delivery snag a couple of days later. Altogether, he made the shopping experience -- especially for a mattress -- a fast, easy, and pleasant one.
I highly recommend both this location and Shane, personally, for mattress shopping. As an elder millennial, it even makes me think about the benefits of in-person mattress shopping...
Read moreOk, so only two words are needed to describe mine and my families experience at this Mattress Warehouse: OUTSTANDING SERVICE!! Or maybe GREAT DEALS!! I don't know, but we left VERY HAPPY. Costumer service is important to us, and we were blown away by the attention, knowledge, and care we were shown by the manager, Nuwan. We initially arrived, not committed to even buying a mattress today, (though we we're in the market for two, a full-size, and a twin) just looking to get some prices to shop around. I spent about 15 minutes talking through the deal Nuwan offered, and told him, after checking with my husband, that we were appreciative of his time, but we were going shop around and see what the competition was offering. We left, and after checking three other stores (there are quite a few in this localized are), and comparing prices online, we went back to Mattress Warehouse. Every other store we checked couldn't even come close to what we were offered by Nuwan. Here is the kicker; not only was the deal on the two mattresses we were initially looking for great, but we talked through some of the details of a bed for my husband and I as well. Again, Mr. Nuwan impressed us with his knowledge, attention, and care!! We finished the day with THREE new mattresses, one for my son, one for our guest room, and a new mattress for my husband and I. We got great deals all the way around! We felt super comfortable and not pressured in any way, and both Nuwan as well as his staff were very kind, and even playful with my sons in the store.
