First, the good: The Pie Like You Berry Much was really, really yummy. Now the bad: When ordering online, the smallest size I could order was a pint. I couldn't order the Like It, Love It, or Gotta Have It sizes. When I mentioned this to the employees, they said there was a glitch or something with the website. They hadn't even started our order before we got there. We live about 15 minutes away, so it should have been ready. According to the website when I ordered, anyway. Another customer was also there for a pick-up order and the employee ended up having him pull up the receipt because their system didn't print the order. The employee that helped me, had our order written on post-it notes. She informed me that they were out of the Going Bananas for JELL-O Pudding ice cream that we ordered and would need to order something else. This location was out of so many toppings and waffle bowls/cones. Not only did we have to order something different, but almost every customer, that came in while we were waiting for our order, had to switch what they wanted. They still had about an hour and a half left of being open and were close to running out of other toppings, too. One employee kept playing with her ponytail and then went to make someone's order. She did not wash her hands before making the order. The store was in disarray. There was a busted freezer that was missing a door, the area where the toppings are kept was a mess, the keypad to input your phone number is busted, the drive-thru was closed. I don't know if they weren't scraping the counter clean between orders or what, but our ice creams had quite a few "added" toppings that weren't part of the order. We ordered two of the blueberry pies and a dough for it. In the blueberry pies we had nuts, sprinkles, and chocolate chips. In the dough for it there were sprinkles. The Dough For It! barely had any cookie dough. When the employee only grabbed one dough disk for the amount of ice cream it takes for a pint, I was kind of surprised. This was our fist time ordering from here, so I wasn't sure on ratios, but my daughter said there wasn't much dough at all in her pint. It was mostly chocolate chips. Because of our experience, I don't know that we'll go back here. It's unfortunate, because the ice cream was...
Read moreSpent $56 on a cake, just to have it melt seconds after leaving coldstone.
It was my wife’s 25th birthday today, and I had never tried coldstone custom cakes. We signed up for an 7:00 pickup time and got there at 7:30 (so maybe that’s why?). We were grocery shopping for her birthday meal. When we got there, we were told it started melting so they were blast freezing it. After waiting 15 minutes in restaurant, we saw the cake and it looked perfect. We accepted it, and left the store.
As we were driving away from the parking lot, it started melting. At this point, it’s already 7:50pm/8pm. When we got it home, it was even worse. To be honest, for the price point this is not worth it. I grew up with Dairy Queen cakes and never had one melt on the way home. My birthday is next week and I’m timid to put in another order.
At the same time, I’m a baker and could have made my wife her own cake, better quality for even less than coldstone. In an economy where we really have to pick and choose who gets our business, I think coldstone is losing out cake wise. The other option before accepting your custom cake, let it sit on the counter for a couple minutes or in the car before leaving #CakeCheck. It just sucks to have a birthday cake of this quality at this price point.
Edit: immediately when I got home, I decided to freeze it. But it was too far gone to even help. The quality doesn’t match the price tag either, the cake was super dry. If I have any personal advice, the bigger pricetag doesn’t mean it’s better. Even under the popular brand name of “Coldstone”. Maybe at another location it’s better. However, save your money and look at Baskin Robins, Dairy Queen or Costco.
Also, had a call earlier from the store, the letter was initially supposed to be written in White lettering. However, I was told that the frosting was “chunky” and unusable, so they asked for another color to which I said purple. If there’s chunky icing, I have a feeling there’s quality problems overall. That should have been my first red flag, but wanted to give it the benefit of the doubt. Looking forward to my call with...
Read moreI don’t even think I would give one star to this place. My daughter purchased ice cream that was $8.37, on July 4th. She wasn’t given a final receipt in the drive through, only the receipt before a tip was run. When she checked her bank balance the following day, she was charged over $72 for her ice cream. I called to speak with the manager who told me it wasn’t the first time it has happened and that it looked like she was charged $64.24 for a tip. She told me there was nothing she could do because tips had already been given to the staff for that day. So, I asked her to call the owner as I was on my way there and that was not going to work for me. From what I can tell, this happens quite often in the drive thru there and you better ask for a final receipt. My daughter skipped adding a tip on the terminal. She’s 17 years old and is very responsible with her money. They are ripping people off! They did end up giving her the money back, but made sure to tell us “just so we’re clear, this is the only time this is going to happen”. DO NOT do business here. I think the whole staff are in on it. The teens working at the time were giggling and talking about it the whole time we were there. No apologies were given. Horrible customer treatment. Zero customer service.
And let’s be clear. My daughter skipped the tip on the terminal. I find it funny that you guys are trying to pass this off as her mistake. She did not tip and wouldn’t have tipped $64.24 on an...
