El Maguey Mexican Restauraunt — Restaurant in Lake Saint Louis

All in all the food is great, which is why we always go back. Mainly for carry out. Occasionally, we'll dine in it's mainly carry out. I can't speak to all the menu items, but the Chicken Chimies are awesome. Which is what all three of us usually get.

My wife recently started getting the Echalada Verde, and she loves them.

As far as the service is concerned, we've only had a few issues out of, and I'll bet close to 30 visits there. Which forgetting something when you do carry out is a real drag. So, I kind of blame myself for not checking the bag, especially since it happened more than once. We always get a side of Queso Cheese dip, and it's been forgotten a couple of times.

We're in Wentzville, and this location is in Lake St. Louis and traffic on Highway N at that time of day is terrible. I've only gone back to get it one time, and they gave me a larger amount. After that, though, I didn't go back to get it the next time due to traffic. My food was cold by the time I got back home the first time. As much as it still tastes great reheated, since I always have leftovers to take to work for lunch the next day. I prefer my food hot at the time I bring it home.

Other than that, it's been a really great experience every time. The food is ready when they say it will be, even on busy nights with the dining room packed. Which is the main reason we do carry out. My wife and daughter do not like crowds and it's a popular place so it's usually crowded, especially on Fridays, which is when we normally get it. My wife gets a break from cooking dinner.

“Robber” This is our 3rd time with El Maguey by Ronald Reagan location, the other 2 times was togo and this’s the first dining in! “Top of the line HORRIBLE service from Adrian!” Unbelievable, please everyone be very careful and watch for Adrian or this server because he is good on ripping his customers off!!! I definitely advise the management and the owner to pay attention more with the business and your employees. El Maguey puts up really big signs about “Kids eat free on Monday with Purchase of Adult Entree”, we ordered 2 Adults Entrees and 2 kids meals! Guess what Adrian charged us full price!!! We approached and asked about Monday specials kids eat free?! So quick Adrian said NO!!! Only if you ordered from the specialty menu items only! Excuse me, this is absolutely false advertisement or set up to trap people in and ripped us off after words. Very disappointed and will never come back, food ok but Not OK as a business lied and just ripped off their customers! El Maguey needs to stand by their business and takes the ownership, what is this all about??? We did 2x previously togo orders with no problem, those servers were following what El Maguey puts on their big window sign about kids eat free on Monday deal things! So my friends and I decided to go here for my 28TH birthday TODAY to get margaritas, which we were denied which has NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE HERE!!!! WE ARE ALL OVER 21 and we've been here before and had drinks, I didn't recognize the server he was probably 16-18 most likely new (I'm not blaming him one bit) so 3 others were looking at our id's and with a blacklight as well and the STUPID managers (female kind of heavy set) excuse was that it didn't show a picture on the back when they put the blacklight on it (mine showed) do we look younger than we are? Yes! But our IDS ARE VERY REAL!!! WE GOT OURS AT THE DMV AND THE LICENSE OFFICE, IF I WAS GOING TO LIE ABOUT MY AGE I WOULDN'T SAY I'M 28!!!!!! I'VE NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM BEFORE.
