YAAASSSS FINALLY FLAVORFUL ITALIAN FOOD! I’m so happy that we randomly stopped in here yesterday. We split a Cesar salad (great size to split between two people). We ordered the **CREAMY PESTO PENNE (added Chicken): The portion was large, the sauce was creamy and delicious!! Everything was perfect with this Pesto!! YUMM. We also ordered the **SPAGHETTI PUTTANESCA: The Spaghetti was cooked in the house marinara sauce sautéed with Kalamata Olives, Capers, Garlic and crushed red peppers. The Spaghetti was out of this world! The flavor was so fresh and delicious. We really wanted to try a pizza here as well but we were so full from our pasta and salad so we ordered the **BRUNOS PIZZA to go. I’m really happy with the pizza as well, the veggies were cut fresh, the crust was nice and thin, all around the flavor was great. *COCKTAIL: I don’t remember the name of the drink but it was a martini with Raspberry Vodka, Chocolate Vodka and whipped cream, it was oohhhh so delicious.. *STAFF: Seriously, the staff here was so kind! I wish I had caught our server’s name so I could add it to this review. He genuinely seemed to enjoy his position at Bruno’s. He greeted us with a large smile the moment we walked in, gave us great advice on what to order, made us feel like valued customers from start to end. It’s rare to get customer service like he gave us. There was also another gentleman putting the pizzas together that was all smiles along with another lady that cashed us out that just genuinely seemed happy. Will definitely be going back to Bruno’s in the near future. If the staff is this happy that is a good indication that the owner/manager treats them well. *LOCATION: It’s in the back corner of a strip of business but once you are inside it’s actually a good size restaurant. It has an Italian winery feel once you are inside. *HAPPY HOUR: We did not have happy hour when we dinned in yesterday but the happy hour options are great. Will be back to try a few for sure. They have a special for every day of the week for food and drink specials. The one special that caught my eye was 2 for $25…. OH YESSSS I will be going back on a day they have this special just to try two more pasta dishes!! ^__^ *CONS: The New Owner needs to publicize that Bruno’s is under new ownership. I commented to our waiter that this was our first time in and how impressed we were with the flavors of the dishes. He explained that Bruno’s was owned by someone else prior. I would think the locals would like to know that, Maybe post a large banner outside to get more people back in to try it out. Also not having an updated website is hurting your business flow. I was surprised to only be the 3rd set of customers dinning in on a Wednesday evening around dinner time. Maybe get some cheap fliers ordered to hand out or leave on doors to get the great word out of new ownership and the 2 for $25! You will get a lot more people in! Bruno’s you are just way too good for your customers to have to dig through yelp reviews on a search for a photo of the menu. (Get an updated website) BRUNO’S IS TOO GOOD TO NOT BE A FULL HOUSE AT...
Read moreAlways get great food here. We order through door dash. But umm the last time, we'll tonight, we ordered again. I got the shrimp noodle thing with parsley on top... and it had a peice of glass in it. I tried calling a few times and I know it was after hours so I understand that they were a little annoyed. But I just wanted to make sure nobody else got it in there food. Like I didn't want free food at all and I think that's what the front desk lady was under the impression of. She first tried to tell me they didn't even make the entree that I got.. I guess I said the name wrong.. shrimp scampe I guess it's actually shrimp fettuccine? Idk. I was just worried that whatever the sharp peice came off of would come off again into someone else's food and that they would actually eat it and cause serious damage. It might be glass or clear Tupperware I'm not sure but it's really big and very sharp. I don't think they took me seriously at all and that kind of worries me. The line cook told me they don't use glass on the line. I told him It might be clear Tupperware I wasn't sure. He seemed to believe me more than the woman at the front desk who just kept trying to tell me she'd give me free food if I brought it in or take it up with door dash. I just feel like this is a really big safety hazard and I was just trying to help. I'm pregnant and I don't really like to travel when I don't have to so I offered to send the glass peice through the mail. So they could identify what it came off of like we would have done where I work. But she just kind of laughed at me. I don't think I was taken seriously and it just really worries me. I hope nobody else gets a peice in their food. I hope I didn't accidentally eat any other part of the peice. They really have great food and it's never bad or wrong. I'm just worried and this experience kind of let me down. You would think they would do some sort of investigating in the kitchen. Again I don't want any free food or anything I'm just really...
Read moreWe had previously left a five star review, and have been regulars since our first time eating here. Took my mother here for her birthday, at her request, along with my oldest sister. Had taken my sister here once before and had ran into a possible issue with her type of ID, but had been told by a senior staff member that we had the OK for her ID moving forward. Turns out this is not actually the case. Enter the bar, inform the bartender about my sisters ID and the senior staff member giving us the green light. However, we got outright shut down by whoever was running the bar that day. Not a nice attitude at all. Flat out said no to my sister’s ID, that because the staff member that had OKed the ID wasn’t there that she would not take it. Maybe that is why the senior staff member had said in case anyone ELSE asks, in case she happens to not be there??? A place as local as that you’d expect the staff to give you common courtesy if you’re a regular, but this service was far more akin to that of a big corporation. Not a good experience to come in to for my mom’s birthday. Right after the entire bar crowd had just wished my mom a loud happy birthday. What an experience, right? My family and I have loved Bruno’s for some time now, but this has severely soured one of our favorite restaurants in town. What a shame, because the food is incredible and the patrons always have a great vibe, along with those staff who do treat us with kindness and respect, of which I am really sad we did not see today. Unfortunately we were only met with a lot of disappointment. Went across the street to Ixtapa instead, because what we went through in Bruno’s is no good for a birthday...
