Old school Taco Time is dead, or at least the NW locations are, just like the old school saying āGood Good Fresh Freshā. (FYI, you can still find an authentic Taco Time experience in Eastern WA, Oregon, Idaho, and Montana). The tacos I ate tonight were nothing more than lettuce in a shellā¦. Taco Bell would have been better, and thatās sad because Taco Time used to blow Taco Bell out of the water!
The food is barely recognizable these days due to how much theyāve shrunk it down and the quality changes. The crisp burritos are more like taquitos, the famous crispy tacos that used to be stuffed with meat and cheese are now just a small shell with mostly lettuce. Portions are tiny and prices are through the roof. No more self serve hot sauce or ketchup, which they now charge for. If Iām paying nearly $15.00 for a combo meal, or any meal for that matter, I expect to walk out the door satisfied. Visiting a Taco Time NW is not satisfying these days, which is why I visit less and less often after every disappointing visit. Iāve been eating at Taco Time for over 40 years and Iāve never been so disappointed. At least this location isnāt remodeled, because the remodeled locations are hip and unrecognizable⦠they suck! Oh and the MEXI Fries are now Tater Fries, and the MEXI platter is now a Fiesta Platter (2022 change)ā¦.. How PC of them. Question - are we still eating MEXICAN Food? A boycott is in order, for all fast food, but Taco Time NW deserves it the most. I, like many others, are very disappointed with...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI've been a long time customer, having gone to Taco Time restaurants in various locations. Lately (the past year or so), service at the Lake Stevens location has seriously declined. Today was probably our last visit at the Lake Stevens Taco Time (after several questionable prior visits). The floor was especially greasy all throughout the restaurant... even the bathroom. There were hardly any customers there (just two tables sitting). We were the only ones ordering. Thought it'd be quick (nope). The drive thru seemed to be priority (as many places are). Witnessed two different customers coming up to the cashier to ask for something (workers kept walking by, ignoring - what's up with that? The last few visits this has been more and more common)! We waited a little bit longer than normal (we are patient people). Got home, and there was a grease stain on my clothing from the bag (Mexi fries weren't closed all the way and had spilled), and my husband ordered a Beef soft taco - not in the bag - forgotten. Granted, I should have checked my order like I had been doing the last several visits, but we were just ready to get out of there. I gave 2 stars because I am a sucker for Mexi-Fries (grease stains or not). I'm sorry, but this place has gone downhill....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI used to work at Taco Time. Many many moons ago but over the years I have become more and more disappointed mostly about their prices. Theyāve always been pricier than other fast food and thatās because the food is undoubtedly better. But tonight I have to say SHAME ON YOU TT. I ordered a soft taco meal. My mexi fries were old and cold and this is the issue 9 times out of 10. The soft Taco was child size, the lettuce was limp and stringy like the tomatoes and these two things alone drastically change the yummy flavor the signature TT Soft Taco. It was 1/2 the size it used to be, the hot sauce is now packaged instead of made on site and these three items with extra sour cream (be sure to say āranchā or now youāll get plain sour cream) cost me $13.00!!!!! If Iām gonna pay thatā¦TT Corporate I want a decently portioned burrito with FRESH veggies. And donāt get me started on the wrap/roll job that wasnāt. The girl working the window was efficient and friendly and was the one positive part of my experience. CāMon TTā¦.please step it up. Psā¦most people would wait a little extra for some fresh...
