Caribbean Jerk Palace — Restaurant in Lake Township

Let’s start off with the ordering process.. i called my order in and was rushed through the ordering process. That wasn’t truly the main issue for me though.

I ordered two whole chicken dinners with Mac and yams for one and Mac and greens for the other also with a side of the plantains. I get there the food in total came out to be almost $70!!! That took me by surprise because that seemed a little high compared to many other jerk spots I’ve ordered from. Because I’m eager to try this new restaurant and I’m hungry at the time I gladly paid the $70 with the cashier saying “I know y’all will be back” insinuating the food was so good that I’ll keep bringing myself back to this business.

She was WRONG!

The chicken was burnt. Tasted like burnt grilled charcoal. -The white meat was dry and the jerk sauce was mid. -The Mac was good but almost gave a TV dinner vibe.

-The greens were alright wish they were less salty. -plantains were cooked but almost tasted like they were boiled

(However you do get a decent sized portion of food) paying $70 for trash jerk food was outrageous and I WILL NOT BE GOING BACK.

This was my first and my last time buying food here. I really wanted some jerk chicken. I was very disappointed. First it smelled better in the place than the food tasted. The rice and beans 5 out of 10 had the most flavor. The jerk flavor I was looking for. The chicken 2 out of 10 had no flavor without the beans and rice, the macaroni and cheese give that a 4 out of 10.The yams tasted like butter potato’s 3 out of 10. 22.00 dollars for the plate in the picture it should’ve had more food give it a 3 out of 10. The collard green had too much salt which cost I think 5.50 by itself. Now the customer service lady was great I give her a 7 out of 10. The location as far as being clean I give that a 3 out of 10. Mind you I bought more than just one...

Food: I ordered the oxtail dinner. It comes with rice and two sides. I chose Mac and fried plantains. Oxtails were very tender and flavorful; not salty. The plantains were perfect and the mac was amazing(they use black pepper, YAY!!).

Atmosphere: Very open and spacious. The aroma was very pleasant; you have to go to experience it! I love that you can see the grill; it’s visually appealing and gives it an authentic feel.

Service: The staff were very welcoming, very busy, but still professional and friendly. They have a text message service that notifies you when your food is ready. Which is perfect because just in case you may want to sit in your car or step outside.

Anyway, go ahead and experience it all...
