Been a patron since the early 80s when they were located on 63rd street a block west of Kedzie - I was a teen then. In my opinion, hands down the best deep dish pizza in Chicago - I find their spinach deep dish pizza particularly tasty. Decided to have dinner there tonight, and I was a bit disappointed with my service. The waitstaff person was pleasant, friendly, but forgetful. I ordered a cup of soup, a small deep dish pizza, and a drink - the order was repeated back to me to insure the waitstaff had taken my order correctly. I was brought my drink and waited for my soup ... and waited ... and waited. I asked the waitstaff person about my soup and they replied they didn't hear me order a soup when I told them my order. What? They has repeated my order back to me. The mistake was remedied when they brought me my soup shortly afterwards. A little while later my pizza was brought to me. But, I was not given any eating utensils and before I could bring it to the attention of the waitstaff, they started taking the order of the dinner party seated next to me, which by the way had been brought eating utensils even before the waitstaff started taking their order. I was able to get the attention of the waitstaff and told them I need eating utensils - they just held up their finger as to tell me to wait a minute. Well, I waited close to ten minutes before getting my eating utensils to eat my meal. While I waited, there was a couple complaining that they were still waiting to be brought a take-out box - another table was still waiting for their check to be brought to them. I understand there's a worker shortage and some businesses are having a rough time finding qualified workers, but they need to spend some time with training their workers on proper customer service. I worked in a restaurant as a teen, and the first thing management taught me was proper customer service since they wanted customers to return - for most people, going out to dinner is a treat that's not done on a daily basis. As for the food, I was happily pleased - as for the service, they need...
Read moreUpon entering, the entire left side of the area was completely empty, and the right side had only a few customers.
At the front desk, I told them we were a tablet of 5. We were given a table on the left side, by the windows towards the Cicero street. The people who were there recently left, so we were the only ones now seated.
After 15 minutes, we did not get any weighter or attendant to give us water, or ask what we wanted. I had to literally call the store and place my order. However, they did not even take my order because I told them we were sitting down.
After 10+ minutes more of waiting, we finally got a server who was also training someone else. I immediately started placing the orders again, and asked for water and soda.
The water took another 7 minutes to arrive.
It shouldn't take this long for simple water.
Our server was reaching over me to serve other people across the table. This made me feel uncomfortable as well.
To make it worse, the server continuously reminded us that it was super busy today, despite us being the only table on the floor, 4-5 people behind the desk and 2 of which seemed who were doing absolutely nothing.
Our appetizer wings were very small, almost half the size of your thumb. It also appeared very burnt and unappetizing. That is how it was served to us.
After eating the appetizers, we again, waiting 45 minutes more for the pizza to arrive.
Upon receiving our pizza, they did not serve us the first slice. We had to serve ourselves the first slice. This would not have happened at other Giordano's locations.
I do not recommend you dine in here. If it's takeout, do not order...
Read moreI place an order on 7/13 and when I went to get my order it took them 10 minutes to look for it and then they told me they didn’t have it even though I provided the order number and and order number. Then all of a sudden they did have my order. I went home only to find out they messed up my wings and forgot my pasta. I called in and the person who answered was laughing and then said how can I help you. I said they forgot my pasta and messed up the wing and she said “okay you can come pick it up” giggling. I come in and ask to speak to a manager to tell him what happened they gave me mu wings and I said what about my pasta and he says okay and disappears for 20 minutes. I go up the the girl packing the order and says I don’t know where he went. At that point I’m extremely upset. I’ve had a last experience like that and was like okay maybe they were busy. This time, it was slow all the staff was just staring at us and we’re sitting there 30 minutes to see if they will bring out the pasta and only to have the lady in charge of the order being it out and be like idk where the manager went. Horrible service and courtesy and lack of communication. No wonder they had no service if this is how they do order and forget stuff and don’t even have the audacity to apologize or anything even after and I’ve $100 order, two trips and waiting for over 30 minutes to get the order...
