My husband and I come up to Chicago quite a bit from Louisville, KY. We love staying here. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. They have a nice breakfast in the morning. The staff keep it stocked and very clean. If you come in late you can walk over and make coffee or tea as it is open to use at anytime. I like to bring a couple of hot chocolate packets with me as I’m not a coffee or tea drinker. The rooms are clean and well stocked. The beds and bedding are amazingly comfortable. You can set the temperature in your room which I love! My husband and I are smokers but at no time did we feel like a bother going out to our car to smoke. We love that the shuttle picks up every 20 minutes or so. We take the shuttle to the midway airport and walk through to use the train. You can buy weekend passes which is great for us. We came during St. Patrick’s Day weekend and did the boat tour and some other fun things. So we don’t have to worry about traffic or parking. We also enjoy the restaurants near by (Coaches is yummy and just at the other hotel behind Sleep Inn & TGI Fridays right across the parking lot in case you have drinks you can just walk 2 minutes back to the hotel from either place also a great late night Mexican place right across the street that is YUMMY!!) along with shopping in case you forget something (Walmart, Target, Ross, Dollar Tree ect.) lol it’s a good area. I’ve never felt unsafe. We’ve got up at 2am and went to the Mexican place across the street to order food. We got our food then walked back across the street ate and ate in our room. Plenty of on site parking for no extra charge which a few hotels in “the midway circle” do charge which is outrageous. It’s literally a big horseshoe with 5-6 hotels and parking lots. So to change for that is wild even if only $20 bucks a night!! That adds up!! Sleep Inn has no charge for parking and no hidden fees! One thing… we are a Coke company family lol they only have Pepsi products in one vending machine that our $3.50 each. Also, ice machine is in the same area as the vending on the first floor but it was no big deal to grab our ice bucket and fill it up if we are making a few drinks in the room. Other than that the room comes with mini fridge and microwave. You basically get everything you would get at any other hotel in that area but half the price which is great for us because we could use that money for good dinners or activities. We will definitely continue to stay here! Don’t forget to tip the housekeeping and save a few bucks to tip the shuttle crew....

Overall, the place is clean, staff is friendly and helpful. The beds are comfortable, good location, free shuttle to midway and plentiful complimentary breakfast.
Our luggage had already made it to our destination so we were without basics, the front desk and housekeeper were more than happy to help us out with what we needed. Actually, every employee we encountered was very helpful and friendly.
The room (2 beds) was small but not claustrophobic. If this had been a longer stay the lack of in-room microwave and refrigerator would have made us pass up this location. The beds were comfortable but the pillows were so so so floppy. They just flattened out the minute you put your head on them. I had asked for extra at check-in because, well, hotel pillows usually suck. These however were definitely some of the worst I've encountered.
The bathroom is small and we had asked for a handicapped accessible room (not sure if what we had was one), my family member had a hard time in the restroom due to lack of safety bars. Again, for one night it wasn't a huge deal but would have been a deal breaker for a longer stay.
The free breakfast is what you would expect- pastries, bagels, egg & sausage, waffles, fruit & yogurt. Coffee, juice, & milk. The food items were fresh appropriately cold or hot. Several of the items were available early which was great. The dining area is small but comfortable.
The hotel, room, and grounds were well kept and the overall design of the place was very welcoming.
The free shuttle to and from the airport was great and definitely appreciated. I had a hard time finding information about the shuttle on their website though. I had to call and ask when it came and where to meet it. Would just be helpful if that information was easier to find.
There are several stores and restaurants in the area which, since we didn't have our luggage, was fantastic. There is a Walmart and Target within a reasonable walking distance (or if its freezing a quick Lyft ride away).
Overall, for a one night stay this place was great and affordable. For a longer stay we would look for more amenities but the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff made the...
