My wife and I wanted to try this place because we've driven past it a few times so we finally stopped in. When we first arrived there was apparently some issue with us parking in their lot. One of the waitresses signaled to us from inside so we just parked on the street. The place looks very nice and super clean, and we were greeted as soon as we came in. The wait staff was very attentive coming to check on us every few minutes. For drinks we ordered the atole de cajeta and while for the most part is tasted good, it had a slightly weird tangy flavor. My wife also pointed out that the atole was broken, meaning that they must have made it with milk and then added water because it was curdled so we chose not to drink it. Read moreWe’ve been regulars at Gorditas Santiago 2 for years now, and it just keeps getting better. Hands down, the best service in Chicago, everyone is incredibly attentive, warm, and welcoming. It’s the kind of place where you feel genuinely cared for, like you’re dining at a beloved relative’s house.
The restaurant is impeccably clean, seriously spotless, and it shows the pride and love they put into everything. It’s woman-run (¡qué orgullo!), and you can truly taste and feel the dedication in every dish.
They welcome you with a little bowl of sopa de fideos, just like home, comforting, nostalgic, and heartwarming. And don’t even get me started on the jugo de zanahoria con naranja… it’s out of this world: fresh, natural, and energizing.
Now, the star of the show, their gorditas. The guisos are rich, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. Every bite is packed with homemade deliciousness, and they never disappoint. Las salsas deli deli!!
We love this place with all our hearts. If you’re looking for authentic, lovingly prepared Mexican food with a side of joy and community, this is...

We used to go to number one location, the one over 63rd , for some reason location number 2 it's in kinda better location, for example their own parking lot, also I think it's bigger place. Anyway. Try it if it's your first time, if you are reading reviews for a reference, trust me, you'll not be disappointed. You'll discover real flavor, real service.
It's spicy..? Yes. It's hot.? Hell yeah...
