Your best bet at Midway, if you have a long layover (otherwise just plan on a snack). The food is quite good, and the service friendly and professional -- vastly better than the generally appalling performance you'll see at other Midway restaurants. The atmosphere is surprisingly pleasant, little touches like some extra space between seats at the bar offer room for luggage and less awkwardness with your neighbors. The slim design of the bar, large screens all around, and sports bar theme results in actual friendly conversations with others that can be had at ease, something sadly missing from airport layovers these days. Of course, prices are airport level, but not outrageous. Also, like any "median strip" airport restaurant that does made-to-order, the kitchen is small for the volume of people who must be aerved, so, while not really slow, it won't be "airport quick" unless it's near-empty, and if you want something out of the ordinary or a treat, I'd pick something the bartender can make or fetch. At mealtimes, I'd want a good 45-60 minutes of available time if you'd like to sit down and not be rushed.

Stuck with a flight layover? This is a great place to eat in Terminal A! I had a Beyond Burger and sweet potato fries. They were both fabulous! I was skeptical of the goat milk cheese but it was super creamy and full of flavor. My server recommended the sweet potato fries. They were the best I’ve ever had hands down! (Just be prepared for a $2 up charge). It was super easy to take my extra fries with me as the portion was quite hearty! Take a look around the back of the restaurant at the impressive collection of sports memorabilia. My only request would be to add phone chargers by the tables. I almost didn’t eat there because of it. I’ll definitely try another location the next time I’m in Chicago…..so good!!

We had a long layover at Midway and this was right by the gate we arrived at and we were hungry. I had the blackened tallgrass burger and my girlfriend had the fish and chips. My burger was cooked to perfection, thick and juicy. The fish and chips were excellent as well. Service was spot on, beers were ice cold and we really enjoyed our lunch. There are a few more places I wanted to try on that long layover, but I was already full 🌝

I could not possibly have had a better experience!!! Nicole, the host, is perfect for that job!! She is outgoing without being pushy, welcoming, clearly has an attitude of being of service, has an amazing voice that can easily be heard in the crowd without being too loud. She just has great energy!! As did everyone I interacted with there. My server, Stephanie, made some great recommendations for me, and said yes to every special thing I asked for!! She brought me three limes in my big glass of water; it was perfect for that amount of water!!! No one’s ever done that! She was patient with me and really seemed to share my enjoyment there! Both these women seemed like they brought their whole selves to work… not like their bodies were just playing a role. (Even the guy and maybe managerial clothes with the amazing hairstyle was a consummate professional, moving quickly and wishing every single person he delivered take-out to, a good day.) And the food? Best airport food I’ve ever had! Quick, too! The burger was thick and juicy the way ALL burgers should be! I ate the bun, and I never do. The kale caesar was perfect (and I’m SO impressed Stephanie was able to make a side size for me!!) and the sweet potato fries… I literally will do my best to route as many flights through Chicago as possible, just to come back here!!! Also, the environment was quiet, felt spacious for such a small place, and yet Nicole managed to seat groups of all sizes. I am impressed, and look forward to my next visit, with the hope of seeing Nicole and...

I was recently at your restaurant in Midway. I was discriminated against by your staff. They did not serve me, speak to me or even acknowledge me as a customer. They waited on other customers that had come after me including a group of women that was more than 6 people. I was there with my wife, and no one came to help us. As I asked numerous times for help, I was ignored than told by both staff members that the other would wait on me and neither of them did. I am appalled at how I was treated. I am disappointed that this is tolerated at your restaurant. This an extreme abuse of power. I am hurt that in this day in age for such an evolved world that I was shunned by your staff. I will never go here again and will be sure to spread the word to everyone I know this is not a place to go to. Sad part is I have always gone here I fly quite frequently alone for work. If I am alone, it is acceptable to be served but because I am a married lesbian your staff will not acknowledge me. I hope this reaches the highest person in this company this is just not right on so many levels. This is also the third time I have sent an email asking for someone to get back to me. Clearly you don't care about how your customers are treated. So many people in my old workplace told me to make this public but I am not a public person by any means. Maybe they were correct. My thought is the message you are sending me is I don't matter this is not an issue and you're very wrong this is a...

The main reason I'm giving this place three stars is because of the atmosphere, and our burger (though overlooked) was juicy and was nicely charred. When we came, the restaurant was not empty, but also not busy. Our server was not attentive and didn't smile at us at all until she cleared our plates and brought the check. Our water glasses were dirty, but I didn't say anything because I wanted to forget about our unfriendly server. We got the Holy Cow chips with bleu cheese crumbles and fondue and buffalo sauce drizzle. The chips and toppings were all cold, but we didn't say anything because the chips were satisfyingly crispy, and the toppings still tasted good. We got the drunken burger and ordered it cooked medium, with mixed greens as the side. The burger was well done, but not dry. We didn't say anything because it still tasted good. I added mustard to mine to make up the flavor a bit. It was very nicely charred, though I would definitely have sacrificed some charring to have the burger cooked the way we ordered it. I didn't prefer the dressing that came with the mixed greens, but that is just a personal preference. A few of the greens, however, were clearly old and secreting that old green-ish grey-ish juice that old lettuce does. I ate the cucumbers and tomatoes off the top and didn't touch the greens. Over all, the atmosphere was pleasing, and the burger tasted good. We might come back in the future, but only if we've exhausted...
