Whenever I come home I stop here and get an Italian beef. It was my mom's and my favorite. My last trip in the restaurant was so special I just want to say it was memorable.
I was leaving my mom's funeral. I was still dressed coming from her service and spending much needed time with family.
I did not get the young lady's name but she was the sweetest ever. She complimented me on the color I was wearing (which was purple) and my fascinator on my head. I told her thank you. She asked what was the occasion. I let her know I just left my mom's funeral.
She immediately said she was sorry for my loss. She was already very sweet and professional when it came to taking my order.
While I was waiting for my food she came out and handed me a bill. She said it was not much but she really wanted to make my day.
Honestly she did. That was the sweetest gesture ever. I thank her for it.
I wanted to put it into the tip jar and I think she knew what I was thinking so she kept her eye on me.
I gave her a hug and thanked her for being nice to me. Believe me it was a long day for me.
She was so sweet, genuine, and kind. I thank you for having employees that are very personable.
Like I said I don't remember her name. I just want to tell her she is an amazing person and she should never stop being herself. Thank you for bringing a bright spot into my day.
By the way I donated the money to a worthy cause. I supported a DV event and the money went there.
Thank you Young lady and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNot sure how all the recent ratings could even remotely like this place. The food is disgusting, I ended up with food poisoning from the last time I ate here. When I first moved to Evergreen Park, it was decent, but now I wouldnāt wish this place on my worst enemy.
The last thing I got was a to-go order of cheese fries and a gyro. Not sure who the genius was that just dumped cheese sauce all over the fries in the bag for a to-go orde, sparking the whole thing in this āsauceā that had the consistency of snot and tasted worse.
Then comes the gyro, burnt beyond recognition, tomatoes that were probably cut over a week ago, taziki that I donāt think you could legitimately call taziki, and old, rancid onions.
Nevertheless, food poisoningā¦Iām sure no one washes their hands there, and the place smells bad when you walk in. It seriously needs to just get shut down...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLet me start off saying this, Iām from what was a small suburban community in Michigan that was basically a town. We had a substantial amount of forest that separated us from the city. So burgers have and probably always will be my main go to.
That being said, Iām also a fry snob. It the first thing I always try, and if it terrible, then I know the rest of the food will suck. The fries were perfect, so I knew the burger would be great. It definitely didnāt disappoint. It was all there, juicy, tangy, a nice crunch from the onions and pickles.
The last real dinner I been to in the city was abolished in the Lakeshore Drive redevelopment. The owners, retired and didnāt open in another location, after selling their property to the city. I have been desperately looking for something similar for the last 2 decades, and I have found it in...
