Five stars because I don't have anything to say that is significantly negative about this place. They have bands playing frequently in the back room. Tuesdays are a good night, and they have a band on Tuesdays often. They could have a higher preponderance of hot female bartenders, I suppose. Also, although they have a pool table, it is a 6-foot table. Bar tables are normally 7-foot. Also, the felt is black, which would be cool if you could actually see it. The pool table is very dimly lit and, coupled with the unusually small size, it definitely takes some getting used to. I play a lot of pool, I've been to this bar twice, and I'm still trying to adjust to the table. The hardest part, of course, is being able to see at all. I always arrive late, but I feel my eyes should be adjusted after 20 minutes or so. I can never seem to see sufficiently, but you do slowly get...

I've been here a few times, sampled all three, and never had a bad experience. The service is always great and the prices reasonable, especially for Lincoln Park. I like the lounging couches, I like the pool table, I like the fact there is no TV. Put everything together and you have a unique experience. But Aliveone's strength (it's polymorphic existence) can also be it's weakness. Unless you make an explicit pilgrimage after doing your homework, you never quite know what you're going to get on any given night. But even if the music isn't to your liking...there's the entire front bar to enjoy! I recommend Aliveone...

Always bring my out town friend in when they visit, and tell people at my bar to come when they ask for the best spots in Lakeview/Lincoln Park. Especially if they like pool and PBR! $4 PBR had been a staple of this place for years. Sad to see it go. Old style is alright I guess. Not sure who wants to pay $5 for one tho….
I still recommend visiting. It’s honestly one of my favorite places in Chicago. Pretty dumb to replace a staple of the bar with...
