Not only the food is disgusting but it comes with a side of racism. The cook and cashier were both discussing the delivery guy, a Mexican man from Guerrero, who was soon leaving for a vacation to his home state in Mexico. They were making fun of him that he was excited of finishing his shift and leaving soon. The cook said that hopefully the delivery guy can start building "the wall" while he was there to which the cashier laughed... Maybe these two supporters of Trumputina should reflect what kind of skills they have that are so valuable here and anywhere else to make a country a leader in technology or other future industries. Boiling wieners, prepping in less than 15 seconds junk food, and pointing out the credit card terminal are hardly scarce skills in this world of 7 billion. These two and their ilk are never going to take advantage of the opportunities in a country like this one, no matter what kind of racist is in office. Finally the place was dirty, and anybody could have better hotdogs at a Costco for a fraction of the price. The fries had a horrible Crisco taste, perhaps because of really old and reused oil, and the relish was a weird...
Read moreAmazing hot dogs, and kind and fast staff. We we're visiting family around the University of Chicago area, and we didn't rent a car, so we had to take the L to there which was a long ride, but it was worth it for the great food. It's nice that the red line L station is just around the block. Before we went there, we saw pictures of stuff besides the food and it didn't look very attractive I. E. The area isn't very nice, and the restaurant looked run- down, and there were reviews about how people found stuff in their food.
But on a better note, besides the things above, we saw other (good) reviews about how delicious the food was, and we we're going to go to a game at Wrigley Field. On the subway, we we're at a split decision to go, and when we got to Addison (the Wrigley Field station) we almost, but didn't get off, and decided to go to Bryon's. And so we went for a quick meal in order to make it to the game, and when we went... It wasn't a quick meal. Bryon's has (hands down) the best hot dogs I've ever had, and we had no regret making a detour. If you want a classic Chicago dog.. it's a little out of the city, but this is the...
Read moreI'm new to the chicago dog thing and wanted to experience where the locals go. Based on the reviews I was excited to try this place.
The atmosphere was very great. Old school, old school set up, the workers were q little rude and arguing with each other. True east coast/ chicago experience! Love it.
I was disappointed in the chicago dog. It was good, I like the addition of celery salt but was very basic. It was a hot dog you'd expect from a vendor or an outdoor get together. The neon green relish was concerning but supposedly that's a very chicago thing so I didn't mind. Just odd since relish is already green and don't understand the need to add more additives/ food dye.
I was assuming it's be a large hot dog with a toasted sesame bun or something unique to chicago, a large beefy dog like what you see at Costco, and then the fixings with a nice homegrown 🍅.
It was good, but also a hot dog you'd findanywhere or can...
