Among other things, I ordered the green curry through DoorDash. The menu description specifies “served with jasmine rice.” When I received my order, there was no jasmine rice. I honestly wouldn’t have minded paying for rice separately it that would have guaranteed its inclusion. The curry does have a slight kick, and the rice is pretty essential. Unfortunately, I didn’t have any rice at home that I could make. And even if I had, that would’ve added another 30 minutes to the whole process when I specifically ordered delivery because I didn’t have time to make dinner in the first place. I ended up eating the cucumber salad and going to bed. It was fine, but nothing to write home about. When I did eventually try the curry (the next day, after going to the grocery store and making my own rice), I found the overall flavor lacking (in my experience, curries are usually better the second day, so take that for what it’s worth). I tried adding a little salt, but I think maybe it’s missing umami from the composition. Somehow it tasted bland even though there was flavor. I know. That doesn’t even make sense when I type it, but that’s the only way to put it. I tried adding a little salt, but that didn’t achieve the same depth of flavor I’m used to from other Thai restaurants. I generally love curries. After a long day at work serving customers, this was a pretty big...
Read moreLooking for a local thai restaurant to support? This is the best local thai. You can tell all ingredients are fresh and each dish is unique, not your regular american thai restaurant.
Presentation is key here. It made me want the food even more. Also, the decor was on point so after covid, bring your significant other for date night!
The scallion crepes were very tasty but also very oily. Even though I liked the flavor, the oil was overboard.
The pineapple fried rice was delish! The serving was a mile high. The cashew chicken was very tasty and you could tell the difference in quality of ingredients. It tasted like your parent made it.
The duck... oh man... it was hands down the best dish. I don't even eat duck and it was scrumptious. I didn't have any bits of fat and the green beans were cooked yet still crisp, just the way I like them. The green beans bursted with flavor from the duck. Truly it was a 5 star dish in my books.
Did we stop there? No way. Thai tea ice cream and coconut ice cream for the table! They make them in house and I've now found the local place to go for unique, fresh ice cream.
Their takeout game is strong, so be sure to support them to try all of this...
Read moreSo I was kinda on the fence about ordering from here because I already have my preferred Thai food spot and because there aren’t many reviews on here... but it was late and my usual place wasn’t open. Anyway, I was pleasantly surprised! I ended up ordering two nights in a row. The massaman curry is so good! Such a simple recipe that you wouldn’t think it could be made bad (but to my horror, I’ve received it made with sweet potato before... so yeah), but the onions still had a little crunch and the potatoes were basically the potato version of “al dente”. The pad thai was delicious as well. Also, the second night ordering, they packed some free potstickers (which i actually ordered the first night and loved)!! I don’t know if maybe they recognized my doordash name or something, but either way it was just really sweet and made me get all mushy...
UPDATE: Just wanted to come back and say that I also tried their Pad Woonsen Glass Noodle dish.... and it’s so GOOD. Wanted to order for the 3rd night (I’m supporting my local business!!) but...
