Dram Shop is the kind of place that feels like a hidden gem in Lakeview. Tucked away on Broadway, it's got that old-school tavern vibe—dimly lit, jukebox rocking everything from Steely Dan to the Beastie Boys, and a crowd that feels like family. I don't usually go to dive straight bars, but I had thirst and they had beer. A whole lot of beer. I was one of three people there. The bartender, who sensed I was feeling like I didn't belong there was great and inviting. He talked me through my first round and he chatted with me for awhile. Looking for the bathroom I ran into a very ecletic jukebox. I was amazed by the selection and could have spent hours going through it. Popped into this little bar after a Laugh Factory show with a friend. The bartender/owner was so welcoming. We sat at one of the only tables in the bar and he came over to us to ask for our drink order so that we didn't have to squeeze between people at the bar.
